After being announced back in 2014, the open-world action-adventure Crackdown 3 has been delayed over and over again. While I wish I could tell you that the trend has now finally reversed itself and that Crackdown 3 will be arriving later this year as expected, I'm afraid that it has been delayed yet again.
Crackdown 3 was set to release alongside the Xbox One X this November 7th, but according to a Polygon interview with Microsoft Studios Publishing boss Shannon Loftis the release date has been pushed back to a rather ambiguous "spring 2018". As you might imagine, the delay has been made in order to ensure that Crackdown 3 releases as polished as it can possibly be. Here's the full quote:
"Crackdown 3 is an incredibly ambitious project that pushes the technological envelope with immersive true 4K gameplay, cloud-computing competitive multiplayer and a sprawling and futuristic open world. The team has been working extremely hard to deliver a great experience for fans and this extra time will help us do just that.”
The details are still a bit scarce, but if you would like to see what Crackdown 3 is shaping up to be you'll find your answers in one of the most recent trailers. There is sadly not much gameplay on display, but it should be enough to give you a decent idea of just what Crackdown 3 is all about. Enjoy!
