While each individual Civilization game tends to be alright on its own, it is the expansions that transform them into something quite special. With that in mind, I am glad to say that Civilization VI's rather hefty Gathering Storm expansion has now finally arrived!

Gathering Storm brings with it environmental effects like volcanoes and storms, engineering projects that can reshape the world, a greater focus on strategic resources, the World Congress to help you resolve disputes and achieve diplomatic victory, and naturally, a whole bunch of new leaders and civs to mess around with. Besides the usual batch of technical issues, Gathering Storm appears to be a pretty good expansion so far, especially if you love messing around with some of the more peaceful options. However, while Gathering Storm does add a great deal of content to Civilization VI, it does so at a rather hefty €40 price tag. So even though it is a noticeable improvement over the original game, I would honestly recommend waiting until it goes on a bit of a discount before diving in yourself.
