We have truly reached a new era in gaming. Not only are we getting remastered versions of popular old games, but soon we will getting a remastered version of a DLC pack as well! And naturally, with modern times come modern prices, so the DLC that once cost $10 will now be $15!

If you haven't figured it out from the title already I am talking about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered's Variety Map Pack. It essentially brings with it four 'new' multiplayer maps in the form of Broadcast, Chinatown, Creek, and Killhouse, as well as 10 rare supply drops to justify the price hike. For those of you wondering what the remastered versions of these maps look like, here's a very brief glimpse from the most recent teaser trailer:

The Variety Map Pack DLC will arrive on March 21st for the PlayStation 4, while the PC and Xbox One will get it at some point next month. Originally the PC version got the Variety Map Pack for free, but I have not seen any word that this will be the case with the Remastered version as well. So unless more information comes out treat it as a paid piece of DLC.

I don't do this very often given that I don't think my opinion is worth more than anyone else's, but I would strongly urge you to not purchase this DLC, even if you're the biggest fan of Modern Warfare. Not only is the Modern Warfare remaster needlessly expensive because you need to purchase Infinite Warfare alongside it, but Activision is now actually trying to sell you the same DLC for the third time at a higher price! That is just downright ridiculous, and such behavior should not be encouraged even a tiny little bit lest it spreads and infects other games. So please, before you actually put down any money on this DLC, just consider what exactly you're funding here.
