[Update]: Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has now been officially released and I'm glad to say it's received good reviews so far!

After quite a few delays, previews and teasers, the Castlevania: Symphony of the Night inspired Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night now finally has a concrete release date. You can expect to see it on June 18th on Steam, GoG, PS4 and XB1, while the Switch version will arrive on June 25th. As for the Linux and Mac versions, those ones have unfortunately been canceled a while back.

Besides the release date announcement, the developers have also unveiled a brand new trailer that addresses many of the complaints directed towards Bloodstained's previous and rather paltry previews. Have a gander, this one's a pretty good one:

As someone that was quite displeased with the previous animations, especially when it came to the main character, I have to admit I'm pleasantly surprised with how much the developers have managed to accomplish in the past few months alone. So while I was once worried Bloodstained might become yet another Mighty No. 9, I am now fully on board for a Symphony of the Night themed adventure! That said, I don't think I'll ever be fully comfortable with that running animation, so hopefully the team will be able to get that polished up by release as well.

Whether you share my enthusiasm or not, you can learn more about Bloodstained, as well as follow its development moving forward, by hopping over to Kickstarter.
