[Update #2]: Burning Crusade Classic is launching on June 1st, and the pre-patch on May 18th!
[Update]: Burning Crusade Classic will be launching in 2021, with the beta starting up soon.
BlizzCon Online will be starting this February 19 and will feature a great deal of announcements for the World of Warcraft and Diablo series. While most of the information is still shrouded in mystery, you might be quite happy to hear that Blizzard has accidentally leaked one of the big reveals - the long-awaited World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic!
Burning Crusade Classic will bring with it all of the excellent content you might expect: Blood Elves and Draenei as new races, Outland as a new continent to level through, new raids and dungeons to toy around with, the Arena PvP system, as well as Jewelcrafting as a brand new profession. Most importantly of all, Burning Crusade Classic will bring back the Fel Reaver in all of its one-shotting glory to scare the living daylights out of a brand new generation of newbies!
When it comes to servers, WoW Classic players will be able to decide whether to advance each of their characters to the Burning Crusade era with the rest of their server, or to continue playing the original WoW Classic content on new Classic Era servers. All things considered, a pretty elegant solution!
Much like the original Classic, Burning Crusade Classic will be mostly free to play. All you'll need is a World of Warcraft subscription, after which you'll be able to explore all of the 'new' content at no additional charge. So even if you're not planning to stick around Burning Crusade Classic for long, it'll still be there for you to have something to do in between content droughts in Shadowlands.
Once the full reveal goes live, most likely alongside a proper gameplay trailer and full list of changes, I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, I'll leave you with the original cinematic trailer. Enjoy!
