Battlerite artwork for Zander the Magnificent Magician

After a couple of weeks of teasers Battlerite developers have now finally released a brand new support champion - Zander the Magnificent Magician. As you might imagine given his attire, he's a bit of a different champion than the ones that came before him. What I mean by this is that his damage and healing numbers are quite a bit lower than you might expect, especially for what is supposed to be a support champion, but worry not as he more than compensates for that fact with a whole bunch of highly versatile abilities!

If you're wondering what all of that might look like in-game, wonder no more as the developers have recently posted a brief preview video. It won't give you a detailed overview of everything Zander brings to the table, but it should be enough to give you a general idea of his playstyle. Have a look:

Besides Zander, this update has also brought with it some much-needed balance changes. As such, Alysia, Bakko, Iva and Ruh Kaan are now a lot more useful, while the previously annoying champions such as Poloma and Destiny have been toned down in a fairly noticeable way. I haven't had much time with the patch so far, so take the following with a few grains of salt, but it really does seems like most heroes are now on the same sort of power level, while also being unique enough to attract different sorts of players. This is probably going to change once people figure out the next best thing, but as of right now Battlerite is in a really good spot as far as balance is concerned.

If you would like to learn a little bit more about Zander, or just read through all of the balance changes, you'll find what you seek over at the official website. Have fun with the new hero, and don't forget that he is still a healer!
