Battlefleet Gothic: Armada system requirements and release date have been revealed

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada is an upcoming RTS adaptation of Games Workshop's classic that features the forces of Chaos, Eldar, Orks and Imperium in devastating and rather extravagant space battles.

If that sounds like something you would like to try, now's your chance as the multiplayer beta has recently become available to those that have pre-ordered the game. Here are the system requirements and a short gameplay trailer so you can see it in action:

The minimum system requirements are all fairly standard stuff, with the exception being the heavy CPU demand. Its interesting to see the i5 processor being set as the minimum when most AAA games seem to have it firmly lodged in the recommended section. I can't say its unexpected though, especially when you consider how detailed some of the grand cathedral ships of the Imperium look in the trailers.

OS: Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)

Processor: AMD FX-4100 X4 (3,6 GHz)/Intel Core i5-2500 (3,3 GHz)

Memory: 4096 MB RAM

Graphics: 1 GB, DirectX 11, AMD Radeon HD 6850/NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560

DirectX: Version 11

Storage: 10 GB available space

Same story with the recommended settings, fairly standard hardware with the exception of the CPU requirements which have now been upgraded to an i7. Intel's i7 is a very powerful chip, but also a very expensive one, so if you do decide to buy Battlefleet Gothic: Armada make sure you have the hardware ready because upgrading it won't be so easy.

OS: Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)

Processor: AMD FX-8350 X8 (4,0 GHz)/Intel Core i7-3770 (3,9 GHz)

Graphics: 2 GB, DirectX 11, AMD Radeon R9 270X/NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760

DirectX: Version 11

There is currently no official release date for Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, but the ability to pre-order ends on March 23rd, so I'm going to apply a bit of logic here and assume that's when the release is going to happen.

If you're wondering how exactly Battlefleet Gothic: Armada plays, and if its any fun, do make sure to stick around as I'll have a preview up in a couple of days once I get comfortable with the game.
