All good things must eventually come to an end, and so after seven years of post-launch support, updates and DLCs, Techland is now finally moving on from the original Dying Light. Naturally, they've not done so without sneaking in one final addition - the Definitive Edition.

As the name might imply, the freshly unleashed Definitive Edition brings with it all of the updates, DLCs and The Following expansion bundled into one convenient (and currently deeply discounted) package. If you already own the Platinum Edition you will be automatically upgraded for free, while everyone else will have to either upgrade to the new version of buy individual DLCs if they so wish.

None of this is even remotely mandatory, however, as Techland recently gave everyone access to The Following expansion and a couple of the DLC packs. So unless you particularly care about side-modes or cosmetics, you can stick to the old version and have a jolly good time regardless.

If you're curious what you can expect to see in terms of gameplay from the Definitive Edition, especially when it comes to the various DLCs, that you can find out through the trailer below:

Have fun, and if you're interested in Techland's farewell to the Dying Light community, you can find it over at Steam.
