Subnautica: Below Zero official artwork showing some frozen caverns

After a couple of short teasers, Subnautica's chilling standalone expansion Subnautica: Below Zero has now been fully released into Early Access. It offers a brand new storyline that takes place after the events of the first game, a large and ice-bound new region to wonder across, plenty of new creatures and leviathans to run away from, as well as a much greater focus on above-ground exploration.

If you would like a little bit of a sneak peek, and you don't mind one of the leviathans being spoiled for you in the process, allow me to share with you the recently posted trailer. Have a gander, it's quite lovely to look at:

Before you get too excited, it is very important to mention that Subnautica: Below Zero is still very early in development, and as such only has a limited amount of content and a nearly unlimited amount of bugs. In other words, if you're planning to grab it any time soon, make sure you're doing so primarily because you want to help the developers by giving them some much-needed feedback.

Personally, I'd recommend waiting until Subnautica: Below Zero is fully finished. This will not only give you access to the entire game, but it will also spare you the headache of dealing with unstable performance and numerous bugs. After all, Subnautica is one of those games you really want to dive into with as little knowledge as possible, so why spoil the whole experience by playing through one tiny piece at a time with ever single Early Access update?

Whatever your opinion may be, you can learn more about Subnautica: Below Zero, as well as grab yourself a copy, by visiting Steam or the official website. Have fun!
