Big Robot, the UK studio behind Sir, You Are Being Hunter has recently announced their newest project - The Signal From Tölva. Given the studio's name and the amount of robots present in their previous game, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that The Signal From Tölva is going to be an open-world, sci-fi shooter filled with tons of robots, both big and small.

If you're wondering what all of this looks like and what sort of environments you'll be able to explore, the devs have also released an announcement trailer that, while brief on gameplay, showcases the world rather well. Have a look

The action in The Signal From Tölva takes place in the distant future where star-faring robotic factions constantly face off against each other in an effort to sift through the ruins of ancient civilizations. This is where you, a mysterious outsider party capable of hacking and controlling various humanoid robots, come into play as yet another faction eager to discover what exactly sent out that powerful signal from the surface of the battle-scarred planet Tölva.

As for the actual gameplay, its going to be a mixture of exploration and action, with the occasional RPG element thrown in for good measure. You will need to delve deep into the mysteries behind this ancient alien world, fight a territorial war against "dynamic and ferocious AI", recruit your very own AI drones to fight alongside you, and naturally, salvage a variety of resources in order to upgrade your equipment and weaponry.

If you would like to get a more detailed look at The Signal From Tölva, especially its story and the ideas that fuel its development, I would suggest you head over to Big Robot's blog or the official website itself. You can expect to see The Signal From Tölva arrive for PC and Mac in early 2017, though the exact date hasn't been revealed just yet.
