After spending about a year in Early Access, the psychological horror game Rise of Insanity has now released in full. It offers a chance to step into the shoes of Dr. Stephen Dowell, a renowned psychologist faced with an extremely difficult patient that's showing distinct yet contradictory symptoms of numerous mental disorders. What follows next is a journey into the depths of the human psyche, as well as the doctor's own mysterious past.

If you're wondering how all of this translates into gameplay, allow me to share with you the recently posted launch trailer. It is not a very lengthy video, but it should give you a good impression of the kind of atmosphere Rise of Insanity cloaks itself in. Have a look:

For those of you that feel like raising the creepiness factor to a whole new level, it is worth mentioning that Rise of Insanity is also available in VR! You will need a more powerful PC in order to run in it in VR, and since there is no teleportation you might experience a bit of motion sickness, but if you can get past all of that then VR really is the appropriate way to play a horror game. You can check out the system requirements, as well as the various limitations, over at the official FAQ.

If you would just like to learn more about Rise of Insanity itself, however, you should head on over to either Steam or the official website. And finally, allow me to send you off with a couple of images, just to help set the mood. Enjoy!
