The Signal from Tolva and Sir, You Are Being Hunted devs have now decided to continue their crusade against robot-kind with The Light Keeps Us Safe - a newly announced stealth and survival game set in a world where the Sun has died out, leaving the world shrouded in darkness and infested by creepy robots. As you might expect, you'll have to use your trusty light to avoid pursuit, dismantle traps, or simply distract the killer robots for long enough to sneak through their numerous checkpoints.

Trying to explain all of this through words alone is a bit of a pointless venture given how much of it relies on atmosphere, so allow me to instead share with you the recently posted gameplay teaser. It's a fairly brief video, but it should clue you in quite nicely. Have a peek:

Before you get too worried about the whole 'survival' thing, it is worth mentioning that The Light Keeps Us Safe will feature absolutely no crafting, which should help keep the gameplay from becoming a bit too stale. The one thing I'm personally worried about, however, is the simple fact that the open-world will be procedurally generated. A good stealth/survival game relies on immaculate level design to keep the tension high, but if everything is going to be randomly scattered about, that sort of tension is going to be much harder to replicate.

This was one of the main problems people had with Sir, You Are Being Hunted as well, so here's to hoping the devs have figured out some sort of way to make it work this time around. I certainly hope they do, because the concept itself really is quite interesting.

Whatever the case may be, we'll find out soon enough as The Light Keeps Us Safe will be heading to Steam Early Access this October 11th. You can learn more about it, as well as follow any further updates, over at Steam.
