Sunless Skies, much like its predecessor Sunless Sea, is an exploration-focused adventure set in the absolutely bizarre and endlessly intriguing Fallen London universe. It'll ask of you to wonder across a variety of massive regions filled with ancient horrors and bountiful treasures, balance your resources carefully so you and your crew don't end up being a bunch of half-starved madmen, and perhaps most importantly of all, slowly but surely piece together what exactly is happening with the world.

If you're curious about how all of this translates into gameplay, as well as what sort of mysteries you can expect to see on your travels, you'll find some of the answers you seek in the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander:

Before you make any sort of opinion about Sunless Skies, it's worth mentioning that much like Sunless Sea, it's a fairly niche game. The focus is quite firmly placed on the storytelling and atmosphere, with pretty much every other aspect of gameplay suffering from some sort of flaw that diminishes its potential. For me this is not a problem as I am more than willing to endure long stretches of nothingness if I'm going to get rewarded with something intriguing at the end, but I can definitely see how some of you might have a problem with this, which is why I would recommend you do a good bit of research before diving into Sunless Skies.

Speaking of which, you can learn more about Sunless Skies by visiting either the official website or Steam. And if you're curious about the Fallen London universe, you might also want to check out the relatively recent (and entirely free) pen and paper RPG called Skyfarer. Enjoy!
