[Update #2]: Achilles: Legends Untold has launched into Early Access, and while it does show promise it's still a bit rough around the edges.

[Update]: Achilles: Legends Untold has now launched into Open Beta, so if you're interested in giving it a try, make sure to do so before the whole thing closes down on February 10, 2022.

The upcoming Achilles: Legends Untold is bit of an interesting combination of genres. On one hand it is a Diablo inspired action game where you get to slice and dice your way through entire armies, and on the other hand it's a Souls-like RPG where timing and positioning are often the only difference between being victorious or simply splattered across the floor.

In order to spice things up even further, the AI in Achilles: Legends Untold is designed to cooperate rather than simply rush at you. So as long as they have numerical superiority, the enemies will try a variety of different strategies in order to catch you off your guard. A pretty neat idea, provided it doesn't get too predictable anyway.

As for what exactly all of this looks like in action, that you can get a bit of a peek at through one of the teaser trailers. Have a gander:

If all of this looks like something you'd love to sink your teeth into, you'll be happy to hear the Closed Beta will be starting this week, on January 27th. You can learn how to sign up for it, as well as read a little bit more about Achilles: Legends Untold, over at Steam.

When it comes to the actual release date, however, no exact information has been released just yet. Once that changes I'll make sure to let you know, but so far it seems like Achilles: Legends Untold will be heading into Early Access during Q2 2022.
