Instead of simply trying to build a single godlike character over the course of an adventure, the upcoming Sandwalkers will have you guide an entire caravan of misfits through an ever-changing roguelike world. Along the way you'll have to survive all sorts of hostile weather, tame bizarre creatures and seek unlikely allies to bolster your forces, and naturally, square off against hordes of enemies in turn-based battles.

When thing inevitably goes awry and your entire caravan ends up on the wrong side of some rampaging abomination, worry not as nobody expected your humble crew to accomplish everything all on their own. Their knowledge will be preserved and passed on to future caravans which will then be able to push deeper and deeper into the wastelands in an effort to a repair the broken climate and bring an end to centuries of wandering.

How exactly this happens, as well as what the gameplay in Sandwalkers even looks like, that you can get a pretty good idea of through the two trailers below. Have a gander, starting with the story-focused one:

Sandwalkers will be launching for PC and Switch, though sadly no release date has been announced just yet. It's not all bad news, however, as a free prologue titled Sandwalkers: The Fourteenth Caravan will be arriving later this year with a bite-sized look at everything Sandwalkers has to offer.

Once more information becomes available, ideally alongside an actual release date for either of the two games, I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, you can read a little bit more about Sandwalkers over at the official website.
