[Update]: Risk of Rain 2 has now left Early Access alongside the massive new Update 1.0!

After an extremely successful Early Access launch and quite a few rock-solid updates, Risk of Rain 2 is now getting ready for its full release. You can expect to see it leave Early Access on August 11th alongside a rather hefty new update, while the console versions will be coming at a later date.

The exact details behind the 1.0 update are still unknown, though the original roadmap does offer a couple of hints. So as long as everything goes according to plan, version 1.0 will bring with it a new Survivor, the final stage and boss, as well as a plethora of new items, equipment and quality-of-life improvements.

The developers are also adding a Server Browser in order to make matchmaking a bit less frustrating. This new system will give you the option to join the exact type of match you want, as well as hopefully put a stop to the constant chain of players joining and leaving your lobby whenever they realize it's not what they were hoping for. A small change in the grand scheme of things, but a definitely welcome one regardless!

You can learn a little bit more about Risk of Rain 2's future, as well as follow the upcoming launch, over at Steam. And just for nostalgia's sake, I'll leave you with the original Early Access trailer - just so you can see how far Risk of Rain 2 has come in such a short amount of time. Enjoy!
