Narita Boy official artwork and logo

If you're in the mood for an oldschool action-adventure with some Metroidvania elements thrown in for good measure, you might want to check out the newly launched Narita Boy. As you might expect from that brief description alone, Narita Boy is all about slicing and dicing your way through hordes of enemies, collecting upgrades and unearthing secrets as you explore the world, and naturally, beating up an assortment of bosses along the way.

What all of this looks like in actual gameplay, however, that you can find out through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander, it's a fairly long one:

I haven't played it myself so take the following with a few grains of salt, but so far the consensus on Narita Boy seems to be that it's a rather fun and story focused action-adventure with a couple of notable flaws. From what I can tell, the main complaints seem to be focused around the somewhat wonky control settings, as well as the overall low difficulty. So if you're into the genre and you don't mind a more relaxed experience, Narita Boy might just be what you're looking for.

Whatever the case may be, you can learn a little bit more about Narita Boy, as well as check out some of the user reviews, over at Steam. Have fun!
