[Update]: Monster Crown has now landed into Steam Early Access with about one third of the final content.

When it comes to Pokemon themed games, despite all of them revolving around gigantic monsters kicking the snot out of each other, they're all pretty much overwhelmingly positive. However, the upcoming Monster Crown is looking to take things in a bit of a different... and darker direction.

Once its fully finished, expect to see around 200 base monsters that you can breed and fuse into more impressive and dangerous forms, a fairly large world to explore, as well as a choice between being the one that will help those in need or simply doom them all in a reckless pursuit of ever-greater power.

You can get a little bit of a sneak peek at what this looks like in gameplay terms through the recently posted trailer. Have a gander:

If all of that looks like something that's right up your alley, you might be happy to hear that you won't have to wait for too long to get your hands on Monster Crown. In fact, it's just around the corner as it'll be launching into Steam Early Access this July 31st. As for what exactly the Early Access version will contain in terms of content, that I'm afraid you'll just have to wait and see.

You can keep an eye on its development moving forward, as well as check out some of the monster combinations, over at the official website.
