If you're up for a bit of a blast from the past, look no further than the newly revealed Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom. It is an upcoming action-platformer developed by Game Atelier, and heavily inspired by Monster Boy 3: The Dragon's Trap, which hails from the ancient times of 1989.

Much like Dragon's Trap, you will be able to transform into six different animals in order to solve environmental puzzles, beat up enemies, and naturally, hunt down numerous secrets. There will also be a variety of weapons and items to obtain, either throughout the levels or purchased in shops, which should go a long way towards making the gameplay fresh and interesting for many hours to come. After all, if you get bored of one playstyle you can just transform into something else entirely!

Since trying to explain all of this trough words alone is never going to do it justice, allow me to share the recently posted E3 trailer. It'll give you a pretty good idea of just what Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom is  all about. Have a peek:

While no exact release date has been given just yet, Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom will be coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch this Summer, while the PC version will be arriving at some point in Winter.
