[Update]: I've now reviewed World of Horror's version 1.0 and I'm happy to say that, despite some issues, it's a highly enjoyable roguelike!

After spending a surprising amount of time in Early Access, the Junji Ito inspired horror-adventure World of Horror has now finally received a release date! You can expect to see the full version launch onto PC, Switch and PlayStation on October 19th, 2023. No further details have been shared just yet, but I can only imagine the launch version will come alongside a sizable update, and a price increase.

For now, however, allow me to share with you the recently posted trailer showing off the unique visual style and some of the gameplay. Have a peek:

Personally, I'm quite excited as the Early Access version I played a little while back was a great deal of fun. Perhaps a bit too random in terms of events and their consequences, but for a horror game that's all about unsettling mysteries, I suppose there's a fair bit of merit in keeping things nebulous. Either way, I'd definitely recommend keeping an eye on World of Horror moving forward if you're a fan of Junji Ito or similar horror authors.

Once the launch version and its contents get fully revealed I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, you can read a few more tidbits about World of Horror, as well as check out a variety of player reviews if you're considering jumping in yourself, over at Steam. Enjoy!
