Iron Wings gameplay screenshot

Iron Wings is an upcoming singleplayer air combat game exploring some of the most interesting events and combat operations of World War 2. You will be taking on the roles of two pilots, Jack and Amelia, as they attempt to fight against the Nazi threat across a variety of campaign missions, each with their own objectives and twists on gameplay.

Before I say anything else it would probably be a good idea for you to check out what the gameplay looks like. As such, here's the recently posted trailer showing our character flying over 1941 New York. There is absolutely no action in the video, as you would expect given the location, but it will give you a good idea of what type of gameplay Iron Wings is going for. Have a look:

As for the combat, you will spend most of the campaign playing with two pilots side-by-side, which brings with it some unique perks. During flight you will be able to control both pilots and their planes, easily switching between them at the press of a button, as well as issue commands for your partner to follow. This might not sound important now, but when you consider that each plane can be outfitted with different types of weapons and tools the usefulness of such a feature quickly becomes apparent. For example, one plane could carry radar countermeasures and scanning equipment in order to locate enemy forces, while the other could shift all of its equipment towards combat itself. Its a simple feature, but a rather interesting one given the gameplay implications.

If this sounds like something you might enjoy you should keep an eye out for Iron Wings as its set to arrive on June 1st. You can learn more, or just check out some actual gameplay videos, by heading over to either Steam or the official website. And finally, allow me to send you off with a couple of images:
