If you're a fan of the classic Heroes of Might and Magic series, you might want to keep an eye on the freshly released Songs of Conquest. As you might imagine given its inspiration, Songs of Conquest is a turn-based strategy that's all about exploring a giant map in search of treasure and resources, upgrading your base in order to unlock new units and abilities, and then using your mighty armies to crush all opposition!

What this looks like in actual gameplay, however, that you can get a bit of a sneak peek at through the launch trailer. Have a gander:

Before you get too excited, it's important to mention that Songs of Conquest has only just entered Early Access and is thus unfinished. According to current plans Songs of Conquest is going to remain in beta for about a year, during which the developers will be creating new content based on player feedback, as well as releasing the usual assortment of bug fixes and general improvements.

As for the current version, Songs of Conquest already has four playable factions, two finished campaigns, both online and local multiplayer, as well as a level editor. So while there's still a lot of work to be done, it does seems like Songs of Conquest has arrived with a decent bit of content in tow.
