Deep Rock Galactic artwork for the Season 3: Plaguefall update

[Update #2]: Deep Rock Galactic's Season 3 - Plaguefall update has added fancy new grenades, enemy variants and mission objectives.

[Update]: The Halloween event has now gone live, though the big Season 3 update is still being kept under wraps.

After a few rounds of teasers, the Deep Rock Galactic team has now finally shared a shred of concrete information about the big Season 3 update coming this November 3rd. As the name might imply, Season 3: Plaguefall will have you working towards cleansing a particularly nasty disease called Rockpox that has wormed its way through Hoxxes IV and seemingly created a new, evolved threat down in the mines.

In order to help you contend with these new challenges, Deep Rock Galactic will be adding four awesome new grenades to play around with. Since the Gunner loves his weapons so much, the Tactical Leadburster grenade will shoot out a massive amount of projectiles in a full 360-degree radius, thus ensuring anything caught in the radius will immediately regret its life choices. The Driller's Springloaded Ripper follows a similar line of thought, though instead of an explosion of bullets the 'grenade' and its array of razor-sharp teeth will continuously circle around an area and keep it clear of any chaff. Here's what the two look like in action:

The Scout is also getting a brand new toy, though the Voltaic Stun Sweeper is more of a control tool rather than a implement of mass destruction. To put it simply, it's a boomerang that bounces between a large number of enemies, all the while inflicting head trauma and stunning anything unlucky enough to get hit. Last but not least is the Engineer’s Shredder Swarm, which as the name might suggest, releases a bunch of very, very antsy shredder drones to politely ask any enemies to vacate the premises. Here's what they look like:

I'd love to tell you more as I'm quite eager to see what else Season 3: Plaguefall has up its sleeves myself, but I'm afraid Ghost Ship Games is still keeping most things under wraps. On the positive side, Deep Rock Galactic's Halloween event will be launching on October 18th to help ease the wait. As is tradition, it'll bring with it a couple of lucrative missions to undertake, as well as two spooky cosmetics to collect.

Once more information becomes available, or the Halloween event goes live, I'll make sure to let you know. Rock and stone!
