Combustion indie action-RPG artwork showing off the cat detective

3D Realms have just announced a whole bunch of new games, and the one that caught my eye the most is Combustion. To put it simply, if such a thing is even possible, Combustion is a noir action-RPG starring a hard-boiled cat detective in a world heavily reminiscent of the original PlayStation classics. Yeah... there's a lot to unwrap here!

Rather than babble on, allow me to share with you the recently posted trailer. It'll hopefully give you a much clearer picture of just what Combustion is trying to do. Have a peek:

The exact details are still few and far between, but it looks like Combustion will be a detective story about trying to nail down a ruthless serial killer. In order to do that you'll have to explore the gritty city of Norrune, utilize a variety of tools like the lasso, freeze-spray and electrical stunner that are all crammed into your baton, as well as mess around with a variety of perks in order to customize your playstyle and best prepare for each mission.

Similarly, no release date has been announced just yet. However, the brief blurb that came with the announcement does list Combustion as "coming soon", so I think it's safe to say we can expect to see it arrive at some point this year.

Once we get an actual release date, ideally alongside a lengthier gameplay preview, I'll make sure to let you know. Until then you can read more about Combustion over at Steam.
