Beautiful Desolation official artwork of a post-apocalyptic village

If you're looking for a story-driven adventure with a hearty sprinkling of puzzles, the the newly released Beautiful Desolation might be up your alley. Expect to see a 2D isometric adventure game set in an African-inspired distant future, factions that both revere and revile the advanced technology that brought the world to ruin, and naturally, gigantic scorpions and rocket-launcher-wielding robots.

You can get a pretty good impression of just what Beautiful Desolation has to offer, as well as what the actual gameplay is like, through the recently posted trailer. Have a peek:

Speaking of gameplay, it's important to mention that even though Beautiful Desolation looks a little bit like the classic Fallout games, it has barely any combat. Beautiful Desolation really is a story-focused game, and you'll likely to spend most of your time roaming around the lovely environments, talking to people, and just trying to figure out what in the world is happening. I don't consider any of that to be a flaw, mind you, but it is worth mentioning given the gameplay style that usually follows isometric RPGs.

So if the lack of combat hasn't dissuaded you, head on over to Steam to learn more about what Beautiful Desolation is all about. Have fun!
