After the surprisingly good 20XX, Batterystaple Games have now announced that they're giving the concept another try. Much like its predecessor, 30XX will be a roguelite action-platformer primarily inspired by the look and feel of games like Mega Man X.

If you're wondering just what exactly I mean by that, you should check out the recently posted announcement trailer as it'll give you a pretty good idea of just what 30XX is trying to be. Have a little peek:

The details are still few and far between, but expect to see two distinct characters with their own unique playstyles and abilities, as well as a fresh set of levels, powers and items for each of your runs. As for the 'roguelite' aspect of 30XX, it will mostly revolve around unlocking new items and gaining a little bit of power with each run, regardless of whether you win or lose.

30XX doesn't have a set release date, but if the trailer and its various locations are any indication, it'll likely be arriving at some point this year. Whatever the case may be, you can learn more about 30XX, as well as follow any further updates, over at Steam.
