Ubisoft's extreme winter sports game Steep is set to release soon, and if you're interested in getting in an early sneak peek you currently have a chance to do so. All you have to do is head over to its Steam page, install the open beta, and try to make it down the mountain without 'tagging' every single tree along the way.
The open beta will end on November 21, however, so if you really want to give it a proper try I would recommend starting the download as soon as possible. On the other hand, if you have absolutely no idea what Steep is all about, let alone whether you should even care about it, here's the recent overview trailer to hopefully clue you in:
While I've personally not played it, mostly because these types of games hold no interest to me, I should warn you that the public reception has so far has been extremely cold... and its not because of the snow! The graphics may look downright gorgeous, but apparently the controls still require a lot of work and overall the whole thing is in dire need of more challenging content.
Whether any of this is true or not, you can find out for yourself, or you can just wait until the reviews finally arrive around December 2 - Steep's release date. If you do decide to venture out into the cold, make sure to avoid the trees... and I'm speaking from personal experience here. Have fun!
