All the way back in February Respawn Entertainment promised that Titanfall 2 will have a heavy emphasis on story and relatable characters, but I can't say I ever imagined I would be getting attached to a robot. However, after watching the latest single player campaign video, I must admit that BT is currently much more interesting to me than the protagonist himself!

If you don't believe me, just have a look at the most recent video yourself. It features a brief introduction to the story behind Titanfall 2, as well as the budding bromance between our two main characters: Jack Cooper, a militia rifleman who ended up in the right place at the wrong time, and BT-7274, a Vanguard class Titan who found himself without a pilot. While the video does feature more than a fair amount of cheesiness, it also manages to make the characters likable, and for a AAA FPS game these days that is an amazing achievement. It might not be much, but details like this give me a good bit of hope that Titanfall 2 will have a story that's at least a little bit deeper than "bad guy there, you go kill!"
