Its been known for a while now that the digital version of Shantae: Half-Genie Hero would arrive on December 20 for all platforms, but the physical editions were somewhat of a mystery until recently. According to the newly posted trailer you'll be able to grab the physical PS4 and PS Vita copies of Shantae on the same date as the digital versions, while the Wii U variant will be delayed for a week, or until December 27 to be specific.
And while the release date announcements are certainly packed with useful information, the most interesting part of this one is the newly posted gameplay trailer. So if you're interested in seeing what the long-awaited Shantae: Half-Genie Hero looks like, head on down below:
I've never played any of the Shantae games, so all of this is still a bit strange to me, but I have to admit the gameplay does seem to be rather well polished. And as a fan of exploration I am especially looking forward to seeing how the various transformations will be used in order to further enhance that "hunt for secrets" aspect of gameplay. Whatever the case may be, I consider this trailer to be quite a successful one given that my interest is currently piqued.
If you're also interested in Shantae and would like to learn more about the gameplay and characters, head on over to the Kickstarter page. While it is a bit of a strange choice its also the most comprehensive overview I've managed to find, so you should be able to get a good idea of what Shantae is all about.
