I have no idea why today is so special, but quite a few games have just announced free weekends or giveaway. The multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight is having a free weekend, the original Psychonauts is completely free to grab from the Humble Store, Ubisoft is running a free weekend for The Division, and now Blizzard is joining the fray with the biggest game of them all - Overwatch.

However, while the previously mentioned offers are valid for this weekend, the Overwatch free trial has been scheduled for the next one. To be more specific, you'll be able to test out everything Overwatch has to offer from September 22-25 on both PC and consoles. And if you end up buying it, all of your progress and earned Loot Boxes from the free weekend will carry over to the full version, provided you got it on the same account.

If you're wondering whether its even worth your time and money, I would say the answer is a definite yes. Overwatch might have a lot of problems, especially with toxicity, but its still one of the most enjoyable games I've played in quite a few years, and a game I still continue to play daily. So while it might not be for everyone, I would heartily suggest you give it a try as there is a rather high chance you'll have a blast with it. I didn't name it my favorite game from 2016 for no reason after all!

And since you're probably going to be playing against the Shimada brothers in each and every game, you might as well get antiquated with them through this rather awesome animated short. Enjoy!
