NetherRealms has announced that they will not bring future updates of Mortal Kombat X to PC

When Mortal Kombat X first released on PC it was an absolutely horrible port despite many promises stating otherwise. It took about two weeks before patches finally made it playable for the majority of the playerbase, not exactly a good launch all things considered. And yet according to Steamspy it so far sold a respectable 500,000 copies.

So what did WB & NetherRealm Studios decide to do in order to thank their playerbase for sticking by them? Announce that Mortal Kombat XL, Kombat Pack 2 and the revamped netcode update will only be coming to the Xbox One and PS4 versions. Here's the quote from a NetherRealm community rep:

"Mortal Kombat XL and Kombat Pack 2 will available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One only."

As a programmer myself I can sympathize when I see a buggy game because that usually means the developers in the background are either being horribly mismanaged, overworked or under such tight deadlines its impressive the game even works but to see a company as big as WB greenlight such a move after the disasters that were Arkham Knight and Mortal Kombat X is just not OK, in any sense.

In an era where PC gaming is growing and many publishers starting to take it just as seriously as the consoles (look at Capcom and the excellent Dragon's Dogma PC port) its mind boggling to see WB willing to burn so many bridges. The revenue Mortal Kombat X brought in from it 500,000 sales must surely cover the cost of porting, testing and then some so why ditch PC support and alienate present & future fans?

That's the whole story I'm afraid, they haven't even released a reason why. In any case I'd suggest you consider Mortal Kombat X & Arkham Knight next time you're tempted with a WB game because this sort of treatment is not OK.
