GOG is currently running a massive sale, and in order to a few more eyeballs pointed towards their website they have now started giving out free copies of Deadlight: Director's Cut. In the most basic terms, Deadlight is a 2D action-adventure with platforming elements and plenty of zombies to either clobber or sneak around.

I haven't played it myself, but if the user reviews are to be believed its a fairly mediocre action game with some rather lovely visuals and atmosphere. Given the amount of complaints I wouldn't recommend spending any money on it, but since its completely free it might be worth giving it a shot and seeing if there is any truth to the claims. The whole game appears to be relatively short, so you shouldn't lose much time either way.

Speaking of time, you do need to hurry up if you wish to claim your free copy as this promotion will only last for another 43 hours (as of writing). Naturally, once you've added Deadlight to your GOG account it will remain there forever, so don't feel pressured to rush through the game itself. And finally, here's the launch trailer to give you a bit of an idea of just what kind of game you're getting yourself into. Enjoy!
