Space Hulk: Deathwing screenshot featuring a giant genestealer fighting a Space Marine

For those of you that might not be aware, Space Hulk: Deathwing recently had a closed beta featuring a couple of hours of alien-obliterating gameplay. Unfortunately things didn't end up working out quite as amazingly as people expected, mostly due to numerous bugs, performance issues, and some rather... questionable design choices.

Even after playing for a couple of hours it was obvious that Space Hulk: Deathwing is not yet ready for its official launch, which is why I'm very glad to say that its release date has now been postponed to December 14. The reason behind this decision, as you would expect, is the wish to fix most of the annoying issues that plagued the closed beta version. But rather than simply repeat what the developers themselves have said, here's the full quote from the announcement:

Mass Effect: Andromeda image of the Pathfinder standing no the Moon

After being rumored and teased for well over a year now, Bioware has finally released an extended gameplay trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda. And even though it may be a bit over-edited and scripted in order to fit the narrative, I must admit its actually pretty damn intriguing.

So if you're interested in seeing a glimpse of what Mass Effect: Andromeda has to offer, you'll find the recently posted gameplay video down below. But before you dive in, do bear in mind that the footage you're going to be watching is from the early alpha, and as such there are some elements of... questionable quality in there as well. Have a look:

Nier: Automata screenshot of a boss battle

After being slated for a rather nebulous "at some point in 2017" launch, Platinum Games' upcoming aRPG NieR: Automata now finally has a proper release date. You can expect to see it on March 7 in North America and March 10 in Europe and Australia, and best of all, the PC version will arrive at the same time as the PS4 one!

As for the trailer this announcement arrived with... well, let's just say that it won't make a whole lot of sense to you if you haven't played the original Nier. That said, have a look, perhaps you will be able to deduce something I could not:

Assassin's Creed 3 official artwork

Ubisoft is currently celebrating their 30th anniversary, and in order to get everyone else to join in on the fun they have been offering a free game each month. Last month it was the rather amazing Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and this month its the somewhat mediocre (but equally free!) Assassin's Creed 3.

In order to grab it you simply need to go to the Ubisoft website and click the shiny "Get your free game" button. Naturally, you will need Uplay in order to actually play your copy of Assassin's Creed 3, but outside of that there is no catch or hidden requirement.

Hitman's Agent 47 dressed up as Santa Claus

If you would like to get into the Christmas spirit, but don't feel like stopping your murder spree just yet, worry not as IO-Interactive has you cowered! In "Holiday Hoarders", the upcoming free mission for Hitman, you will be given a chance to combine the two by skulking around Paris as a very, very naughty Santa Claus.

Since the sight of Agent 47 in a full Santa costume (and this includes the bushy beard and magnificent mustache) is downright hilarious, allow me show you the recently posted trailer. Have a look, and I dare you to try and not sing along:

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun official artwork

[Update]: Shadow Tactics is getting a standalone expansion in late 2021 - Aiko's Choice!

Shadow Tactics, in the most basic terms, is a Commandos inspired strategy game that's all about sneaking around, taking out enemies with carefully concocted plans, and then desperately trying to fix the resulting mess once those plans inevitably fail. As you'll note in my review I had a great deal of fun with it, and as such I would to let you know that Shadow Tactics is now available for both the PC and consoles.

But rather than just listen to me ramble on, here's the recently posted trailer. It should give you a good idea of the sort of mood Shadow Tactics is trying to achieve, as well as the basic gist of what the gameplay's all about. Have a look:

Worms W.M.D concrete donkey weapon

[Update]: A brand new Worms game has now been announced - Worms 2020.

Worms W.M.D in its current state features around 80 weapons, some of them new, and some of them lifted straight from the old school classic Worms: Armageddon. But if that just doesn't sound like enough, you'll be glad to hear that the upcoming update will bring even more of them.

The rather oddly named "The Liberation", oddly named for a game that revolves mostly around blowing up both friend and foe anyway, will bring with it four new weapons, as well as a new vehicle in the form of the drillboat... I'm sure you can guess what that one does. There's also going to be a couple of new singleplayer maps to test your worm-slaying abilities, and for those of you that prefer to play worm dress up instead, there are also 12 new customization items to make your troops the easiest target prettiest in all the land.

The official artwork for the upcoming Prey game

The original Prey was about as straightforward as it gets. You played as an angry, drunken Native American that's trying to save his girl from the evil aliens in the only way he knows how - by blasting them into teeny weeny bits and pieces. Prey (2) on the other hand... well, let's just say that things aren't as simple anymore.

Your character this time around is apparently some sort of alien hybrid, you're fighting against shadows that put Slenderman to shame, and one of your abilities allows you to turn into a cup... A CUP! What might come as the biggest surprise, however, is that Prey actually looks pretty damn interesting. If you're having trouble believing that after learning about the main character's amazing cup-based superpower, here's a recently posted preview video showcasing most of the gameplay elements present in Prey:

Torbjorn from Overwatch dressed up as Santa

If you're currently wondering whether you should spend your hard earned currency for some fancy new Overwatch skins, I would recommend you stay your hand because Christmas is coming! And as is tradition with Blizzard games, the Christmas season is bringing with it a whole bunch of new cosmetics to collect, as well as a new and so far unannounced holiday event (similar to Junkenstein's Revenge)!

As per Blizzard's recent announcement, the festivities will begin on December 13, but that's as far as concrete information goes. However, if you're interested in some unconfirmed details the folks from Facepunch have managed to dig up, here's the full list of heroes that will be getting either a costume, an emote, or a highlight intro. But before you dive in, do bear in mind that all of this is still strictly in rumor territory, and as such is in no ways guaranteed to appear on December 13. With that said, here's the list:

Rainbow Six Siege artwork for the Echo operator

Even though its launch was extremely shaky, Rainbow Six Siege ended up being a great deal of fun, so much so that its still being heavily played despite numerous other 'big' shooters coming and going. And given its success so far, it shouldn't come as any surprise to hear that Ubisoft will be continuing with the content flow into 2017 as well.

What might come as a surprise, however, is that Ubisoft has already started selling the pre-orders for the Year 2 Season Pass. While that's a bit ridiculous given that we don't even have the release date for the first content pack just yet, it does bring with it one upside - a list of planned Operators and cosmetics for 2017. Here it is:
