XCOM 2: War of the Chosen screenshot of the Templar with a psi-blade

XCOM 2's War of the Chosen expansion aims to greatly improve upon the original, while also adding a bunch of new storylines, enemies, and factions to deal with. Perhaps the most interesting of these newly announced factions are the Templars - powerful psionic warriors that are capable of decimating entire armies if they are given enough time to prepare. In many ways they are the human equivalent of a Protoss Zealot, and yes, this includes the awesome psi-blades!

If you're wondering what the Templars might look like, and more importantly, what sort of abilities they'll be able to bring to the battlefield, you'll find what you seek in the recently posted teaser trailer right below. Have a look, they're quite interesting:

Titanfall 2 screenshot of Frontier Defense

The pace at which Respawn is releasing new content for Titanfall 2 is quite frankly ridiculous. It has been less than a month since Titanfall 2 got updated with two new maps and a third weapon slot for Pilots, and already we're getting a brand new PvE game mode, as well as an additional two maps!

Frontier Defense will be a co-op 4 player game mode that will require you to defend a Harvester against 5 waves of increasingly difficult enemies. As you mow down hordes upon hordes of baddies you will be earning cash which can be spent in between waves to purchase tools like Batteries, Arc Traps, Sentries, and more. As an added bonus, Frontier Defense will bring with it a new Titan Progression system - Aegis Ranks. These Aegis Ranks will be exclusive to Frontier Defense (for now anyway) and will offer you a variety of powerful upgrades to toy around with, upgrades you will need in order to succeed at the higher difficulty levels.

The Surge screenshot of a duel between titans

The Surge is a recently released sci-fi action RPG developed by the studio behind Lords of the Fallen. Much like its predecessor The Surge features tactical melee combat against enemies that can easily obliterate you, a variety of weapon choices and fighting styles, a sharp difficulty curve that will test your mettle from the very begining, as well as a relatively mixed critical reception.

Given all of the similarities with Dark Souls there is a good chance some genre fans will have an absolute blast with The Surge as well, but testing that hypothesis has not been exactly easy given that it requires you to first spend €50 on a game that seems to have divided the community 50/50. As such, I am very glad to say that the developers have now released a free playable demo onto Steam!

Doomfist talking about war from the Overwatch comic Masquerade

When it comes to Overwatch lore we know a lot of details about how all of the 'good guys' relate to each other, what their goals are, and how exactly they're organized. As for the villains, i.e. the Talon operatives, we know surprisingly little. Blizzard released a couple of hints and teasers over the past year, but despite seeing Reaper and Widowmaker show remorse for what they've become we know almost nothing about their plans.

This is where the recently posted Masquerade comic comes into the play. It not only showcases the Overwatch villains as actually competent agents, but it gives a good glimpse at the inner workings of Talon, and most importantly, their grand plan! So if you have even an inkling of interest in Overwatch I would definitely suggest you give the Masquerade comic a read.

The Evil Within 2 screenshot of a giant blue eye in the sky

In The Evil Within 2 you will be playing as Detective Sebastian Castellanos who is forced to partner up with the shadowy organization Mobius in order to save his daughter. Since this is a horror game we're talking about things quickly take a turn for the worst and the once simple mission swiftly descends into pure madness.

If you're wondering what kind of madness this might be, wonder no more as Bethesda has just posted a brief trailer showcasing both the story and some of the abominations we'll be fighting against in our search for the truth. Have a look, and don't worry about spoilers as all of the dialogue is about as ambiguous as it gets:

Screenshot of Doomfist from Overwatch

Doomfist arrived on the Overwatch PTR a mere two weeks ago, but he has already managed to become one of my favorite heroes. There is just something incredibly satisfying about shattering walls with people's faces, leaping through the air like gravity doesn't exist, and basically playing a fighting game character within Overwatch. As such, I am very glad to say that Doomfist will be making his way to the live servers next Thursday, on July 27th!

Nothing has been confirmed just yet, but chances are high this update will also bring with it some much needed buffs to McCree, Reaper, Reinhardt, and most surprisingly of all, Zarya's ultimate. And if you want to take things even further, its also highly likely that July 27th will mark the start of the second Summer Games, which means a whole bunch of new skins and emotes to play around with!

Total War: Warhammer screenshot of War Mammoths from Norsca

It seems that Creative Assembly has really learned their lesson from the whole Chaos Warriors pre-order scandal. Instead of a pre-order bonus the newly revealed Norsca faction will be given for free to everyone who buys Total War: Warhammer 2 before or within the first week of launch, which is more than enough time for reviews to come in. Most importantly, Norsca will be coming to the original Total War: Warhammer on August 10th whether you own the DLC or not, so even if you're not planning on buying Total War: Warhammer 2 any time soon you'll still be able to beat up the savage northerners in singleplayer or multiplayer.

If you're not familiar with the Warhammer lore and you're currently wondering what Norsca is even all about, you'll find a rather good example in the recently posted teaser trailer. Give it a look if you're into demonic vikings:

The Walking Dead Season 1 screenshot of Lee and Clementine

The Capcom Humble Bundle hasn't even finished yet, and already we have brand new bundle with whole bunch of quality games. As you can probably guess from the title alone, today's Humble Bundle has arrived with a variety of Telltale adventure games, everything from the modern classics such as The Walking Dead to their oldschool stuff like Sam & Max.

While adventure games might be a bit niche, the Telltale bundle features a rather staggering amount of them, so even if you're on the fence about the genre you might want to give it a look anyway. Here are the games and the tier they appear in:

Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon's main characters artwork

Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon is Koei-Tecmo's upcoming action-RPG set in a demon-infested Western Europe somewhere in the 19th century. The story's focus will be on our three main characters, life-long friends that have suddenly found themselves on the opposite sides of a conflict that threatens to tear the entire world apart. And if that wasn't bad enough, our protagonist will quickly find herself succumbing to the demonic curse, which as you might imagine puts an even larger strain on the trio's relationship.

If this sort of storyline sounds like something you might be interested in, allow me to share with you all of the recently posted details. Its not much, but it should give you an idea of just what kind of RPG Nights of Azure 2 is trying to be. Have a look:

Enter the Gungeon official artwork without logo

Enter the Gungeon is a bullet-hell roguelike with tons of cool weapons and simple controls that make it easy to learn, but also a surprising amount of depth and complexity that make it insanely hard to master. While I had my fill of Enter the Gungeon way quicker than I grew bored of The Binding of Isaac, it is still one of the best action-roguelikes I've played in quite a while.

As such, I am very happy to say that the developer Dodge Roll has now announced that Enter the Gungeon has gone platinum with over one million copies sold! For an indie game released in April of 2016 these are some pretty damn impressive numbers! They are likely to increase even further as Enter the Gungeon will soon be coming to the Nintendo Switch and also getting a bunch of new content, though what that content is and when it'll be ready I'm afraid the developers haven't announced just yet.
