Divinity: Original Sin 2 artwork featuring a 3v3 PvP match

Divinity: Original Sin and its sequel are definitely competent singleplayer RPGs, but from my experience they are best played in co-op multiplayer. This way you get all of the same challenge as you would in a singleplayer RPG, but also all of the random and frequently hilarious nonsense that happens when multiple people are utterly convinced they're plan is the only correct one.

While the recently posted co-op spotlight video is a bit over-exaggerated, it should still give you a good idea of just what kind of co-op features you can find in Divinity: Original Sin 2 and what you can do with them. Have a look:

Final Fantasy XV screenshot of the new Assassins Festival cosmetics

In what might just be the strangest crossover this year, Square Enix has just announced that Final Fantasy XV will be hosting an Assassin's Festival next week. In other words, it will be an event featuring gameplay elements from the Assassin's Creed series (including radio towers, hay bales, and hidden blades) and a whole bunch of new cosmetic items to toy around with.

If you're wondering what all of this madness might look like in-game, wonder no more as the developers have recently posted a brief gameplay trailer showcasing the new features. Have a look, its quite... something:

Total War: Warhammer 2 screenshot of Malekith the Witch King in battle

Last week creative Assembly released the very first image of the new campaign map and all of the factions you can find on it. A few days ago they revealed a brief and rather cinematic overview of what exactly the map looks like in-game, and as you can probably guess from the title, today they have gone a step further and showcased some actual gameplay on the new Vortex campaign map.

The video below is mostly focused on Malketih the Witch King and his attempts at interrupting an important High Elf ritual, which mostly involves sending a rather large amount of half-naked elves and monsters to politely ask them to stop. There is sadly no combat in this video, but it should give you a pretty damn good idea of the Dark Elf campaign mechanics and general gameplay style. Have a look:

World of Warcraft Patch 7.3 artwork of the Army of Light

After well over a decade of dilly-dallying around and letting the Burning Legion do whatever they want, it would appear that the World of Warcraft developers are now finally giving us a chance to strike back. Once Patch 7.3 arrives in the near future we'll be able to not only assault the corrupted demon world of Argus, but also battle with Sargeras himself!

But before we potentially slay a god we'll need to establish an outpost at Argus, reinforce the stranded Army of Light, unite with the locals, and farm a whole bunch of new content along the way. If you're wondering what all of this will look like in gameplay terms, you'll find the recently posted "Patch 7.3 Survival Guide" right below. Have a look:

After a decently long wait the Mac and Linux versions of Total War: Warhammer have now finally been updated with the Norsca DLC and its accompanying balance patch. Besides a whole host of new Chaos-aligned units and their fluffy friends, the highlights of this update include a better Empire AI starting position that ensures they actually reach the end game, greatly improved replenishment rates for Chaos forces, as well as a variety of buffs and tweaks to previously underutilized Legendary Lords.

For those of you that don't know much about Norsca or what exactly they're all about, allow me to share with you one of the recent "Monster Hunter" gameplay videos. It should give you a pretty damn good idea of just what kind of units Norsca can field, as well as what kind of playstyle they excel at. Have a look:

Mercy from Blizzard's Overwatch cinematic

The Overwatch team's history with reworks has not exactly been stellar, especially when it comes to Roadhog who still resides at the very bottom of the dirtiest dumpster, but I am very glad to say that the latest changes are some of the best they've ever done. Instead of simply nerfing Mercy and D.Va due to some annoying parts of their kit, they have given both heroes new and exciting tools to play around with!

As you'll see in the patch notes below, Mercy is now more of a proactive support that can resurrect one person on a relatively short cooldown, and if threatened can activate her ultimate to become the literal god of life and death - constantly flying around and dishing out healing and harm. D.Va on the other hand is losing a bit of duration on her Defense Matrix in return for a new rocket salvo ability that she can fire at any point, even while flying towards the enemy!

There are simply far too many changes for me to cover in brief, so if you're interested in the full patch notes you'll find them over at the Overwatch website. But for now, here are the most important hero changes:

Total War: Warhammer 2 Vortex campaign map screenshot from afar

Exactly one week ago Creative Assembly released the very first image of the new campaign map and all of the factions that inhabit it. While it was certainly exciting to see which territories made it in, the map was only a 2D image and such could not accurately convey what the world itself will look and feel like.

This is where today's gamescom video comes in to play! It not only offers a detailed look at all of the new Total War: Warhammer 2 regions, but it also shows off all of the starting positions for each of the Legendary Lords and factions. So if you have even a tiny bit of interest in Total War: Warhammer 2 I would recommend you give the video a look:

Dragon Ball FighterZ screenshot of Android 16 and 18

Dragon Ball FighterZ is an upcoming 2.5D fighting game that aims to bring the series back to its roots. You might also be glad to hear that its being developed by the famed Arc System Works, the studio behind Blaz Blue, Guilty Gear, and the upcoming BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle. In other words, there is actually a pretty damn high chance they will manage to pull this off!

If you have any doubts, or if you're just wondering what Dragon Ball FighterZ even plays like, you'll find the recently posted gamescom trailer right below. Its mostly focused around the newly announced Androids C16, and C18/17, but it should still give you a decent idea idea of just what kind of fighting game we're talking about here. But enough babble from me, here's the action:

Doom Slayer from id Software's Quake Champions

After a variety of closed betas Quake Champions has now finally arrived to Early Access, so if you ever wanted to give it a try you now have a chance to do so. As you might expect, there is a price attached, $30 to be specific. On the positive side, this purchase unlocks all current and future champions for you, so if you decide to grab it you will never again have to grind for any sort of gameplay elements.

In terms of content the Early Access build has brought with it 11 Champions to play around with (including the newly added Doom Slayer), 4 different game modes, a variety of maps, as well as a bunch of cosmetics to play dress-up with. Naturally, more content is planned for the near future, though the details have not been revealed just yet. What I can tell you, however, is that Quake Champions will be getting at least 6 new characters by the end of 2018, the emphasis here being on "at least".

Hearthstone cinematic Orc watching his burned board

Hearthstone has recently been updated with the Knights of the Frozen Throne, a 135 card expansion that saw some of our favorite heroes killed and resurrected as soulless servants of the Lich King. And what better way to follow that up than with a very Disney-like cinematic short full of vibrant colors, random nonsense, and plenty of signing!

The newly revealed Hearth and Home short might not fit thematically with the latest expansion, but its still well worth a look as Blizzard's animation studio has once again outdone themselves. I just wish the song lyrics were more memorable and interesting, but I suppose that's a minor complaint given the age group the short is targeting. Anyway, here's the video:
