Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City screenshot of a sunset

The Dark Souls series represents some of my favorite games of all time, and despite finishing each of them multiple times I am always eager to jump back in and see what sort of silly build I can pull off. As such, I am very happy to say that both Dark Souls 2 and 3 are currently massively discounted on Steam, and will remain discounted until Monday, September 18th. So if you ever wanted to give the series a try, now would be the best time to do so!

As a part of the Bandai Namco publisher week Dark Souls 3 is 60% off and will set you back €24, while you can grab Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the Sin Edition (including all of the DLC) for a rather low €10. If you're going to grab only one I would suggest you go with Dark Souls 2 simply because its cheaper. Both games are excellent in their own way, however, so you really can't go wrong no matter what you choose.

Endless Space 2 screenshot of the Riftborn fighter squadrons in flight

Besides the usual batch of balance changes and bug fixes, Endless Space 2's Target Locked Update has brought in some rather interesting new content. You can now create dedicated fighter and bomber squadrons to escort your ships, with the bombers being more aggressive and the fighters more defensive, as well as embark on a brand new quest that will have you scour the galaxy in order to figure out who has been letting loose vast swarms of fighters.

Since these are cool new ships we're talking about, allow me to share with you the recently posted preview trailer. It should give you a good idea of what exactly the Target Locked Update brings to the table, as well as offer a close up look at the new escort squadrons in action. Have a gander:

The Division screenshot of a flamethrower crew

If you ever felt like giving The Division a try, but didn't really commit to it due to its somewhat mediocre reputation, you'll be glad to hear that Ubisoft is currently holding a free weekend. Simply head over to the official website, create or log in into your Uplay account, and you'll be playing in no time.

The event will only last until Monday, so do make sure to start as soon as possible in order to get a really good look at what The Division is all about. And if you end up liking what you see, you'll also be glad to hear that its 60% off for the duration of the free weekend. While this should go without saying, your progress will carry over from the free to the full version, so don't worry about 'wasted' gameplay.

Psychonauts screenshot of our main character sliding down a railing

With Psychonauts 2 fully funded and slowly on its way, now would be a good time to give the original classic a try and see why exactly its held in such high regard. As such, I am very glad to say that Psychonauts is completely free to grab on the Humble Store for the next two days.

While you're there, you might also want to check out the currently ongoing End of Summer sale. You can grab excellent games such as The Witcher 3, XCOM 2, and Total War: Warhammer at rather considerable discounts, so if you have a bit of free time consider giving them a chance. Personally, I would recommend starting with The Witcher 3 as its one of the most enjoyable action-RPGs I've played in quite a while.

Total War: Warhammer 2 screenshot of an absolutely gigantic dinosaur skeleton

While Total War: Warhammer 2's campaign map will only be slightly larger than the original's, it will cover a lot more of the Warhammer world. Instead of everything being close together on one continent, Total War: Warhammer 2 will be spreading out the action across the High Elf island of Ulthuan, the Dark Elf controlled Naggaroth, the lush jungles of Lustria, and the even the rather enigmatic Southlands.

Creative Assembly has already given us a detailed overview of the Vortex campaign map, but they have never shown us what it looks like from the ground. As such, I am very glad to say that they have now released a brief teaser trailer showing off some of the most visually impressive locations from the New World. Have a look:

Soldier 76 from Overwatch slamming his rifle into the camera

As with any competitive game that forces people to work together, Overwatch has a bit of a problem with toxicity. It also doesn't help that for the past year or so the report system has largely been ineffective, dishing out such minor punishments as chat bans to some of the most vile members of the community.

Thankfully, Blizzard has started treating this problem a bit more seriously over the past few months. The first phase of the plan gave the report system the ability to actually deal with the problematic players, and soon we'll be getting even more changes in an effort to make the whole system a lot more transparent and a lot more effective. If you're interested in all of the details, you'll find what you seek in the most recent Developer Update right below:

Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon artwork of the three main characters

Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon is Koei-Tecmo's upcoming action-RPG set in a demon-infested version of Western Europe somewhere in the 19th century. The story will be centered around three main characters, life-long friends that have suddenly found themselves on the opposite sides of a conflict that is threatening to tear the entire world apart. And since that apparently isn't enough, our protagonist will find herself slowly succumbing to the demonic curse, thus putting an even larger strain on the trio's relationship.

If this sounds like the type of story you'd be interested in, you can get a brief glimpse at the characters and the combat system via the recently posted trailer down below. Have a look:

Dead by Daylight players hiding from the killer

Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer horror game where one player gets to mess around as a monstrous killer, while four others have to their their very best to not become a colorful stain on the living room carpet. If the general idea behind this reminds you of Left 4 Dead, you might be glad to hear that good ol' Bill is one of the playable characters, though I can't imagine that being very fair to the killer given how much experience Bill has in being an overly grumpy badass.

If all of this sounds like something you might enjoy, but you're not sure if you really want to buy it, you're in luck as Steam is currently holding a free weekend. All you need to do is head over to Dead by Daylight's Steam Store page, click that giant green "Play Game" button, and for the next three days you'll be able to explore everything it has to offer.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 artwork of the various companion characters

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is an upcoming turn-based RPG with a heavy focus on combat. It features a variety of elemental combos with highly destructive results, the ability to play in either co-op or singleplayer, numerous NPC followers with their own stories and motivations, and naturally, a bunch of classes and spells to toy around with.

If you're wondering what all of this might look like in-game, wonder no more as the developers have released a brief overview trailer showcasing what Divinity: Original Sin 2 is all about. Have a look, its quite informative despite its short length:

Roadhog and Junkrat flying away from an explosion

After its existence has been leaked many, many months ago, the Australian Payload map Junkertown will soon finally be making its way to Overwatch. To be more specific, you can expect to see Junkertown in all of its 'glory' on September 19th, most likely alongside a patch featuring the highly divisive D.Va and Mercy reworks.

Balance changes aside, if you're wondering what Junkertown is all about, and how Blizzard even came to design it, you should definitely check out the recently posted preview video down below. Its a bit on the lengthy side, but I feel its still well worth a watch given how much behind-the-scenes commentary it contains. Anyway, Have a look:
