Official artwork for the PvP brawler Battlerite

Battlerite is the spiritual successor to Bloodline Champions, and much like its predecessor its a highly competitive brawler with a wide variety of unique characters to choose from. Most importantly, there is absolutely no randomness present in any aspect of gameplay, so all that matters is personal skill and the ability to cooperate with your teammates.

If this sounds like the type of PvP game you would love to sink your teeth into, you'll be glad to hear that Battlerite is completely free to try out on Steam until Monday, October 1st. And if you end up liking what you see, you'll also be glad to hear that Battlerite will be on a 50% discount until October 2nd. In other words, don't feel rushed to make a purchase. You'll have an entire day to ponder over your decision after the free weekend ends.

Zarya and Lynx-17 on the cover of the Overwatch comic "Searching"

It has only been a couple of weeks since the Roadhog themed "Wasted Land" comic arrived, yet Blizzard has already released another one. As you might imagine from the title, the newest "Searching" comic details Zarya's pursuit of Sombra, as well as her slowly-shifting opinions about Omnics in general.

The premise might not sound like the most interesting thing in the world, but I would still suggest you give the comic a read as it brings up some rather interesting questions. Oh, and make sure to carefully look through some of the backgrounds as there's quite a few Easter eggs sprinkled throughout the whole comic, though some of them might not be instantly recognizable.

Throughout The Evil Within 2 we'll have to deal with a wide variety of deformed monstrosities, yet it is the normal-looking and outwardly friendly 'monsters' that are perhaps the most dangerous of them all. One such example would be the mysterious and charismatic Father Theodore, a priest with a simple message: join him, or suffer 'righteous' fury and immolation for your sins.

While the recently posted teaser trailer doesn't go into many details due to spoiler concerns, it does a rather good job of highlight Father Theodore and his role in the story. So if you're interested in the 'friendly' faces you'll see throughout your journey, you'll find the video right below. Have a look:

LawBreakers screenshot of the gravity-breaking combat in action

LawBreakers released a short while ago to some positive reviews, though due to its rather hefty €30 price tag it failed to acquire a stable playerbase. According to Steamcharts the current situation is quite dire indeed as LawBreakers only has an average of ~158 players! Not exactly ideal for a game that released a mere month ago, I'm sure you'll agree.

In order to reverse this trend, and hopefully bring in some fresh blood, the developers have announced an extended free weekend. From today until Monday, October 2nd at 6pm BST LawBreakers will be entirely free to try out on Steam and PS4. So if you ever wanted to give LawBreakers a try, now would be the best time to do so as you're guaranteed to have plenty of beginners to spar with.

Total War: Warhammer 2 screenshot of Mazdamundi from the Lizardmen trailer

After months and months of teasers and trailers Total War: Warhammer 2 has now finally arrived. It brings with it a massive new campaign map to explore and conquer, four new races that each have their own unique abilities and playstyles, a whole bunch of new mechanics revolving around the Vortex ritual, and the list goes on for quite a while.

While the recently posted 360° trailer won't exactly offer you a detailed look into everything Total War: Warhammer 2 has to offer, it should be good enough to give you a general idea of what to expect. Have a look, its quite an interesting video since you can move around:

Star Wars Battlefront 2 screenshot of the Star Destroyer

Star Wars Battlefront 1 got a fair bit of criticism due to a lack of content, so I'm very glad to say that Battlefront 2 looks to be in much better shape. Its bringing with it a lot more maps, a large variety of vehicles and weapons spread across some of the most famous Star Wars time periods, space-based combat with a decent chunk of unique ships, and naturally, the usual boatload of heroes and villains. Whether its going to be any good or not, that I don't know, but there's certainly going to be a lot more content to explore!

If you're interested in seeing what all of this content looks like in action, however, you'll find the recently posted overview video right below. Its not exactly a detailed video, but it should be enough to give you a good idea of just what Battlefront 2 is all about. Have a look:

Genji from Heroes of the Storm

I'm sure at some point this month you've been in a scenario where you've killed an enemy during their ult, only for them to come back 30 seconds later with that ult somehow still prepped up and ready to go. Its not exactly a fun thing to experience, so I'm very glad to say that the next Overwatch update will finally be solving this age-long problem!

Under the new rules ultimate charge will be expended the very moment the player uses their ultimate, instead of being depleted over a short period of time. Heroes that are going to be most affected by these changes are Genji, Lucio, Soldier 76, Mei, Bastion, and Reinhardt. So if you're one of those people that love to use Lucio's ult from the very top of the map, it might be time to reconsider your approach, for more reasons than one.

If you're looking for some games to fill out your backlog and give you something to do over the cold winters months, you might want to give the Humble "Very Positive" Bundle 2 a look. All of the games found within this bundle are rated Very Positive on Steam, so while I doubt you'll like all of them, chances are good you'll at least find a couple you enjoy.

For those of you that don't feel like taking a risk, however, worry not as Shadow of Mordor: Game of the Year Edition is one of the available games, and that one is wildly considered to be pretty damn good! You'll find the full list of games, as well as the tier they appear in, right below:

Total War: Warhammer 2 screenshot of Lord Mazdamundi

With Total War: Warhammer 2 just around the corner Creative Assembly has started releasing gameplay previews at a rather rapid pace. Just these past few weeks alone they've posted a Dark Elf campaign overview, a short battle between the Dark Elves and High Elves, a campaign preview for the High Elves, a couple of videos focusing on the Lizardmen, and now finally a video featuring a multiplayer battle between High Elves and Lizardmen.

So if you're interested in seeing how exactly a multiplayer match will play out in Total War: Warhammer 2, or what sort of strategies you'll need to employ in order to survive for longer than a single minute, you'll find the recently posted preview right below. Have a look, its quite an enjoyable battle:

Hanzo from Overwatch running with his bow

While hit registration was always a bit wonky for Hanzo and Widowmaker due to lag compensation, the recent patch made the problem especially pronounced, so much so that you could hit someone square in the face and not have the hit 'connect'. If you're unfamiliar with these heroes and you're not sure what I'm talking about, here's one of the best examples I could find. Its quite obvious the Hanzo's arrows have connected with Junkrat's body, there's even a blood spray to prove it, yet no damage is actually done.

Thankfully, Overwatch's Lead Engineer Tim Ford has now announced that the team is aware of the problem and that they are working on a solution. Naturally, its not as simple as that, so if you're interested in all of the details you'll find the full quote right below. Have a look, its quite an interesting read:
