Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide screenshot of an eerie house from Death on the Reik

Even though Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is set to arrive in early 2018, the developer Fatshark has now unleashed a sizable piece of DLC for the original Vermintide! On first glance it might not look spectacular since Death on the Reik 'only' brings with it two maps and a melee weapon, but much like the previous DLCs these maps are fairly large and have a lot of content packed within. Its not something you're going to blaze through within ten minutes, though obviously the replay value will depend on your eagerness to serve as the planet's pest control.

If you're wondering what these new maps and weapon might look like in-game, wonder no more as the developers have released a brief trailer highlighting just that. Have a look, its well worth a minute:

Total War: Warhammer 2 artwork of the Skaven Scribe for the Laboratory game mode

While Norsca and its accompanying 30 new Regiments of Renown will not be making their way to Total War: Warhammer 2 until May due to technical problems, I am very glad to say that most of the final Total War: Warhammer 1 balance changes have now made their way to the sequel as well. In other words, the Warriros of Chaos have received a bit of a redesign, the Wood Elves now have new followers, most oldschool Legendary Lords have new skill trees and campaign effects, Helman Ghorst is no longer completely useless, and the list goes on for a while. If you're interested in all of the details, of which there are a ton, you should head on over to the official website.

Besides a whole bunch of balance changes and tweaks, this update has also brought with it a very, very interesting new game mode - the Laboratory. As you would expect given the name, the Laboratory allows you to mess around with 16 different sliders in order to drastically affect the course of battle. You can ramp up the number of models per each unit in order to create a true Vermintide, lower gravity so that each charge sends units flying, amplify the power and range of spells to unleash true carnage, increase the size and strength of units, and the list goes on for a while.

Dragon Ball FighterZ screenshot of Goku powering up

Dragon Ball FighterZ is an upcoming 2.5D fighting game developed by Arc System Works, a studio you might know from their work on the Blaz Blue and Guilty Gear series of fighting games. The goal behind Dragon Ball FighterZ, as you'll probably aware from just looking at it, is to bring the gameplay and visuals as close as possible to the show itself.

If you're wondering just how accurate they have managed to get, allow me to share with you the recently posted gameplay preview. It features a combination of in-game battles and story cinematics, so it'll give you a pretty damn good idea of what you can expect from Dragon Ball FighterZ. Have a look:

The Evil Within 2 screenshot of a camera monster

Unlike the original, The Evil Within 2 is a fairly well-received game that launched with quite a few positive reviews backing it up, from both critics and users alike. However, it is still an expensive game, so it's understandable if many of you didn't feel like taking a risk with it, especially considering how many AAA games have released in the last few months.

With that in mind I am very glad to say that The Evil Within 2 now has a free trial available, so if you ever wanted to give it a try, now would be your chance to do so. If you're planning to grab the PC version simply head on over to Steam, go to the "Download Demo" button on the right side, and you'll be playing in no time.

Subnautica screenshot of the redesigned precursor areas

With Subnautica's release date now fast approaching the developers have shifted their focus from adding extra content towards polishing what they already have. Back in September they added a cute little pet you can tame as well as a bunch of bug fixes, while this time around they're bringing in a variety of new graphics options.

You can now adjust bloom, lens artefacts, ambient occlusion, reflections, dithering, motion blur, color grading, depth of field, as well as chromatic aberration. I personally tend to disable most of these settings as I find them to be highly distracting, but at the end of the day having more options available is always a good thing, especially when it comes to games that are as hardware intensive as Subnautica.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided combat screenshot

The PC, console, and Linux versions of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided have been available for a very, very long time now. However, while the Mac version was planned to arrive shortly after launch alongside the Linux one, it was unfortunately delayed due to its reliance on an upcoming update. Quite a lot of time has passed since then, but if you're still waiting for the Mac version of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, I am very glad to say that it has now finally arrived on Steam!

As with most ports these days, the Mac version was developed by Feral Interactive. If you don't know them by name, you might recognize them from their work on the Mac and Linux versions of Total War: Warhammer 1 and 2, XCOM 2, Mad Max, Tomb Raider, Dawn of War 3, and the list goes on. So far they've had a pretty spotless record, and while I haven't seen any reviews just yet, chances are the Mac version is of high quality as well.

In a bit of news that is going to make some of you feel very, very old, Crystal Dynamics is now celebrating its 25th anniversary! Throughout the years they have created a wide variety of games, though they are mostly famous for their three 'main' series: Tomb Raider, Legacy of Kain, and Gex. As expected, some of those games were less than stellar, but overall Crystal Dynamics has successfully managed to create compelling gameplay and characters, which would be the reason why they've stuck around for so long.

If you're interested in seeing what the people behind Crystal Dynamics think about their anniversary, as well as what the studio is planning to do moving forward, you'll find the recently posted video right below. Have a look:

Artwork for Alysia the Ice Weaver from Battlerite

Even though Battlerite has only recently been updated with the Prehistoric Mania event and Destiny the Sky Ranger champion, the developers have already unleashed another combo. The newly launched Frozen Mists update has brought with it a whole bunch of cosmetics, Alysia the Ice Weaver as a brand new hero, an Arctic Deathstalker mount that you can earn by winning 40 matches, and naturally, a variety of balance changes.

There doesn't appear to be a preview video for the new cosmetics like there was for Prehistoric Mania, but thankfully there is one for the newest champion. So if you're interested in seeing what Alysia is all about, you'll find the video right below. Have a look:

TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2 screenshot of various characters running down the road

After the incredible success of the HD remake of TY the Tasmanian Tiger, the developers Krome Studios returned back in March with an Early Access version of TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2. Even back then it was fully playable, though the controls were a little bit wonky during the driving sections and there were also a variety of annoying bugs spread throughout most of the levels. A decent enough port, but not exactly ideal.

Quite a lot of time has passed since then, and I am very glad to say that it was time well spent as the currently released version of TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2 holds an impressive 100% approval rating on Steam! From what I can tell there are still some minor issues sprinkled here and there, but overall its a completely faithful overhaul of the original TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2, though with a couple of bells and whistles added to spice things up.

Guild Wars 2 artwork for the Wintersday event

This shouldn't come as much of a surprise given that we're nearly halfway through December, but Guild Wars 2's annual Wintersday event has now arrived once more. It has brought with it a variety of minigames, a bit of a tricky jumping puzzle with some nice rewards at the end, a brand new race that will take you all across Divinity's Reach, a bunch of new cosmetics to collect, secret items to hunt, and the list goes on for a little while.

The general idea behind the Wintersday event is pretty much the same as it was in the previous couple of years, but if you don't know much about it, allow me to share with you the original trailer. Have a look, its not a very long video:
