Endless Space 2 official artwork for the Vaulters faction

During their recent 7th anniversary celebration Amplitude announced the very first paid DLC for Endless Space 2. The aptly named DLC will bring with it the most popular faction across the whole series, the Vaulters, as well as a couple of smaller features such as the Sisters of Mercy minor civilization, the ability to negotiate with pirates, and new exotic combat modules.

As with all of the other factions the Vaulters have their own introductory video, so if you're interested in learning a little bit more about their lore and customs you'll find what you seek right below. Have a look:

We Happy Few screenshot of shadowy police officers

We Happy Few is an action/survival game set in a retro-futuristic city whose inhabitants live in a drug-fueled state of happiness in order to escape the misery of the real world. It launched in Early Access way back in July of 2016, and if the latest announcement is any indicator it's going to remain in beta until summer.

As expected, the release date is being pushed back in order to give the developers enough time to polish all of the current and upcoming content, as well as create a proper story mode that will help flesh out the world and its characters. There aren't that many details available right now, but if you're interested in learning just a little bit more you'll find the latest developer video right below. Have a look:

The console versions of Monster Hunter: World are set to arrive in just a couple of days, on January 26th to be specific. As for the PC version, it has just recently been announced that it will be coming at some point this autumn. It's going to be a rather excruciating wait, that's for sure, but at least it seems that the developers are willing to take as long as necessary in order to make it a quality PC port.

So if you need something to tide you over, at least for a little while anyway, you'll be glad to hear that the developers have just recently posted a lengthy gameplay preview showing off the dark and gloomy Rotten Vale zone. Have a look:

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana artwork of the two characters

The PC version of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana was supposed to arrive alongside the console versions in September, but was unfortunately delayed until December in order to give the developers enough time for polish and optimization. December has now come and gone, and while I would love to tell you something positive I'm afraid there are only bad news surrounding the PC version.

According to the latest update on Steam, the PC version of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana has been delayed once more due to technical problems. There is currently no new release date set, but if you're interested in learning what exactly is troubling the developers you'll find a few choice quotes right below:

Civilization VI screenshot of a sprawling city

The Humble Monthly Bundle is a $12 subscription service that instantly gives you access to one game, and then a whole bunch more once the next month rolls over. Back in December this 'one' game was a combination of Quantum Break, The Long Dark and Dawn of War 3, while this time around you're looking at the time-devouring champion Civilization VI and two of its DLCs (Australia and the Vikings Scenario Pack).

Civilization VI definitely has some problems, and I would even go as far as to say that it's slightly inferior when compared to Civilization V and all of its DLCs, but even so it's still a fun game and for $12 it's probably worth giving it a look. This goes doubly so when you consider there will also be a whole bunch of other games joining the party at some point in early February.

Fortnite Battle Royale screenshot of a sniper

After quite a few teasers and promises Epic has now finally released an update to Fortnite's Battle Royale map. The new version features a variety of different biomes that make each environment feel just a little bit different, new locations such as a city and an underground mine to explore and get splattered in, as well as numerous improvements and changes to the original areas.

If you're wondering what all of this might look like in-game, you'll find what you seek in the recently posted trailer down below. The video won't exactly give you a detailed overview of the new map, but it will at least show you what some of the new areas look like. Have a gander, it's a fairly short video:

Total War: Warhammer 2 official artwork for the Tomb Kings

Total War: Warhammer 2's very first DLC Rise of the Tomb Kings is set to arrive next week, bringing with it a brand new faction filled with skeletal soldiers and gigantic stone constructs. In order to get everyone up to speed on what exactly the Tomb Kings are all about, as well as show a couple of tips and tricks, Creative Assembly has now released three brief guides, each one covering a different aspect of gameplay.

So if you don't mind some mild 'spoilers' and you're itching for more information on the Tomb Kings, you'll find the three videos right below. The first one is a short overview of the Tomb Kings campaign mechanics and win conditions, the second one an equally brief look at the Tomb Kings battlefield strategies, while the third video offers some insights about the four Legendary Lords. But enough babbling from me, have a look:

Carmageddon: TDR 2000 screenshot of vehicular carnage

GOG is currently running a bit of a sale, and in order to get everyone's attention they have decided to offer free copies of Carmageddon: TDR 2000 for the next ~18 hours. So if you're up for some oldschool vehicular carnage, simply head on over to GOG and claim your copy.

Before you head out, it is important to mention that this Carmageddon game has not been made by the original developers and as such it has some fairly middling reviews. Even it's very own storefront refers to it as "the turd game in the Carmageddon series!" I haven't played it myself so I can't tell you how good or bad it truly is, but if you do decide to grab it make sure you're prepared for a bit of a different experience than the previous Carmageddon games.

The artwork for the Heroes of the Storm version of Genji

If you aren't a big fan of highly mobile heroes like Genji or Winston, you might not have noticed that the recent Overwatch update brought with it significant changes to how your character actually moves. All of this was done not as a buff or nerf to highly mobile heroes, but rather as a fix for two rather peculiar issues with movement in the air and on inclines.

You can find all of the details in Principal Designer Geoff Goodman's post over at the Overwatch forums, but if you're just interested in the short version allow me to share a few choice quotes. That said, I would still highly recommend you read the whole post as it clearly explains what all of the changes have done and why they needed to be implemented in the first place. Anyway, here's the short version:

Total War: Warhammer 2 screenshot of High Elves fighting Dwarfs

Total War: Warhammer 2's Mortal Empires campaign is absolutely gigantic, and as expected, also filled with a whole bunch of annoying bugs and issues. Perhaps the most famous of these problems is the endless tide of Dwarfs that seems to come from the mountains in every single campaign, usually to the detriment of the Greenskins and Skaven that get completely crushed under a sea of beards.

As such, I am very glad to say that the free update accompanying the Tomb Kings DLC will bring with it some much needed nerfs to the Dwarfs AI, as well as a couple of major buffs to the Greenskins AI which should result in them venturing out of the Badlands more often. As for the Skaven, I am equally glad to say that their broken autoresolve will also be getting fixed, which means that the AI Skaven factions will not automatically lose the vast majority of their battles. All of this might sound simple, but these changes should have a drastic impact on the Mortal Empires campaign map and will hopefully result in a wider variety of opponents to fight against.
