World of Warcraft: Classic artwork showing off Ragnaros

[Update #2]: World of Warcraft: Classic's character creation and name reservation services are now live!

[Update]: Blizzard will be opening up name reservations for World of Warcraft: Classic on August 12th!

While the World of Warcraft: Classic beta closed down its doors on July 12th, Blizzard announced that there will be one more Stress Test offering players a chance to check out WoW Classic before the official release. Originally the final Stress Test was supposed to run from July 25-26, but according to the latest announcement, it appears to now have been delayed indefinitely.

"We're hard at work preparing for the launch of WoW Classic, and we’ve reached the conclusion that we’re not quite yet ready to do our Global Stress Test (previously scheduled for next week)," reads the official update. "We’ll have a more definite date Soon™ and we’ll post it here as soon as we do. Thanks for your patience!"

While I can offer you no new information about the Stress Test, I do have at least one bit of good news to deliver. Whatever issues the team is currently battling are apparently not significant enough to delay the launch! As such, WoW Classic will still be coming on August 27th as previously announced.

Once more information about the Stress Test comes to light I'll make sure to let you know, but until then I'm afraid all we can really do is sit and wait.
