Even though Battle for Azeroth's Tides of Vengance update arrived in early December, the expansion's second raid Battle for Dazar'alor is still not available. The reasoning behind this delay, as is tradition for World of Warcraft, is to give players plenty of time to enjoy the holiday season before having them spend hours upon hours trying to break through the newest batch of bosses.

The holiday season is now well and truly over, however, so you might be glad to hear that Battle for Dazar'alor raid will finally be unlocked this January 22nd for Normal and Heroic difficulties. Mythic difficulty will be arriving alongside the first Raid Finder Wing on January 29th, while the second and third Wings will become available on February 12th and 26th respectively.

As for the raid itself, it will function a little bit differently than its predecessors. Instead of having a linear progression of bosses, Battle for Dazal'alor will give the two factions an entirely different experience. The Horde will be trying to protect King Rastakhan and push back against Jaina Proudmoore, while the Alliance will be the aggressors attempting to break through the Horde defenses in order to assassinate the Zandalari king.

But don't worry about missing out on any of the story if you only play one character, because once you have completed all of the objectives, you will be able to shift to the opposite faction's perspective and see what exactly happens first hand. More importantly, this transition will also give you access to three additional bosses, each of which will be vastly different from their counterpart. So while the raid might be a little bit disjointed in terms of storytelling, there will be nine loot-filled bosses for you to take down!

I won't go into any more details in order to avoid spoilers, but if you're interested in learning more about Battle for Dazal'alor, you should head on over to the official website.
