If you ever wanted to get into the "walking simulator" genre but you didn't know which game to start with, you might be glad to hear that Epic Games are currently giving away the excellent What Remains of Edith Finch. For those of you wondering whether What Remains of Edith Finch is even worth your time, I would say the answer is definitely yes. While many will brand these types of games as walking simulators and never even give them a chance, the truth is that What Remains of Edith Finch and a good portion of the genre are actually really interesting and interactive stories. The walking is just there to get you from page to page.

As for the gameplay itself, it might not exactly be riveting from a mechanical standpoint, but in my eyes the combination of intriguing storytelling and captivating atmosphere make it well worth experiencing. This goes doubly so if you can manage to let your guard down and just get immersed into the world itself. So if you're even remotely curious, I would highly recommend you give What Remains of Edith Finch a try. It is currently free after all, so why not?
