Despite being positively ancient at this point, Chrono Trigger remains one of the most highly regarded RPGs around. As such, there was much rejoicing when Square Enix finally announced that an upgraded version of Chrono Trigger will be making its way to PC via Steam. Unfortunately, all that merriment quickly faded away when Chrono Trigger arrived on PC alongside a whole bunch of bugs, significantly altered visuals, and even some technical problems.

While these issues still remain, you might be glad to hear that Square Enix has now stated that they will be directly addressing community concerns and fixing some of the biggest problems. The first update will be coming in the first half of April and will bring with it the option to switch between the current high-resolution graphics and the original graphical style. Whether this means we're going to get the original visuals as they were or an uncompressed version, I'm afraid I don't know, but given the amount of complaints about the new graphics I feel it's going to be a welcome option regardless.

I'm afraid that's pretty much it as far as details are concerned, but Square Enix has also announced that they will be releasing numerous patches over the coming months, so expect to see some interesting reveals in the near future. You can keep an eye on any updates, as well as the community's reception of them, over at Steam.

The final thing worth mentioning is that Square Enix has also extended the "Limited Edition" offer until April 30th. It features a specially edited medley consisting of 5 songs (Far Off Promise, Wind Scene, Battle with Magus, Corridors of Time and Chrono Trigger), composer Yasunori Mitsuda's digital liner notes, as well as 6 wallpapers.

Not exactly much in the grand scheme of things, so I would highly recommend ignoring the whole thing and only buying Chrono Trigger once it's finally been fixed.
