Sonic Frontiers official artwork for the open-world Sonic adventure

[Update #2]: Sonic Frontiers has now arrived onto PC and consoles alongside some highly divisive reviews.

[Update]: Sonic Frontiers' latest overview trailer offers a detailed look at what exactly the gameplay and open world are all about.

If you've been put off by some of the recent Sonic Frontiers teasers that showed an empty and soulless open world, I'm happy to say that I bring some good news. Not only does the newest preview show off significantly more interesting levels and obstacles, but we also won't have to wait all that long in order to give it a try as Sonic Frontiers has now been pinned for a November 8th launch on both PC and consoles.

What this new and improved version of Sonic Frontiers looks like in action, as well as what the whole story is even going to be about, that you can check out in the trailer below. Have a gander:

The open world still looks a bit too barren for my tastes, but the newly revealed areas definitely look a lot more interactive than the ones Sonic Team showed first. So as long as the individual levels that tie the open world together end up playing well, I think Sonic Frontiers should be a nice bit of fun. I certainly hope so anyway, because it's been a while since we've had a Sonic game that I could recommend without at least five caveats.

Whatever the future may bring, I'll make sure to let you know once Sonic Frontiers arrives. Until then, you can read a little bit more about it over at the official website.
