[Update]: Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time has just landed onto PC and consoles!

When it comes to tie-in games, they are usually released around the same time as the movie or TV show. So seeing as Samurai Jack concluded around three years ago, it might come as bit of a surprise to hear that there is a brand new game on the horizon - Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time.

The details are few and far between, but what I can tell you is that Battle Through Time will feature many of the fan-favorite characters and enemies from the show, and will directly tie into the series' grand finale. Expect to travel through different time periods slicing and dicing your way through Aku's minions, as well as slowly but surely unlocking new powers and weapons to toy around with.

You can get a bit of a sneak peek at what Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time looks like through the recently posted announcement trailer. Have a gander, it's a fairly brief one:

Personally, I'm cautiously optimistic. The developer Soleil has quite a few action games under their belt so the combat is likely to be fun, while the dreaded curse of the tie-in game might not apply here given how Battle Through Time is coming many years after the show's finale. So here's to hoping Battle Through Time is being made because someone really likes Samurai Jack and wants to do the show justice.
