As a part of last year's April Fools' Day prank PlatinumGames announced a retro shoot 'em up by the name of Sol Cresta. And now, a full year later, they are doing exactly the same thing again... except this time around it seems that they are completely serious!

In other words, PlatinumGames has indeed just announced that their fourth major reveal is Sol Cresta, an oldschool shoot 'em up heavily inspired by classic games like Moon Cresta and Terra Cresta. More interestingly, Sol Cresta will not be arriving alone, but will instead be the very first entry of the new "Neo-Classic Arcade" series.

You can get a pretty good idea of just what Sol Cresta looks like in action through the recently posted trailer. Have a gander:

No release date has been announced just yet, but you can expect to see Sol Cresta on PC, PlayStation 4 and Switch at some point in 2021. That is, unless this whole thing is some sort of next-level meta prank!
