To say that Mighty No. 9 had a troubled development would be putting things lightly, but after numerous delays it seems that its finally ready for its big release. While the launch trailer proudly sports the "out now" tag, Mighty No. 9 is still not yet available on Steam, but it should be any hour now.

As for the trailer itself, this one is far superior to the cringe-fest that was the "Masterclass trailer", though it does seem to be lacking in terms of actual gameplay. In any case, you will find the video right below:

What can I even say about Mighty No. 9 at this point that hasn't been said already? Is it the game I expect to see after the Kickstarter gathered over 4 million dollars? Definitely not, but its also not the worst thing in existence as the vast majority of people seem to believe. For me it resides in that cursed in-between place, a realm of mediocrity and broken expectations, not good enough to become a cult classic, yet not bad enough to become something you buy your friends as a joke. I'll reserve my judgement for when I finally give it a try, a few months down the line at a deep discount most likely, but I do hope it ends up being at least a passable Megaman game.

If you're wondering what exactly happened during the development of Mighty No. 9, the team has recently posted the first part of a documentary that details just that. Most interestingly, parts of the video were filmed all the way back in 2014, so you get to see what their vision was initially and how it changed over the course of development. Here's the video, and don't bother thinking up a witty Youtube comment, they have been disabled:
