Totally Accurate Battle Simulator official artwork for the new Western faction

[Update]: Totally Accurate Battle Simulator has just launched from Early Access with multiplayer and new factions!

While it has been in Early Access for quite a while now, Totally Accurate Battle Simulator is making good use of its beta status by constantly releasing a stream of solid content updates. This latest one is no different as it not only adds the gun-totting Western faction, but also new victory conditions and secrets to play around with.

When it comes to the new units, they are once again a rather diverse bunch, featuring everything from cactus cosplayers to pickaxe-wielding miners with open butt-flaps. Besides looking appropriately silly, the new units are a genuinely good addition as they offer some much needed anti-horde options, with the cactus boys being the definite standout given how long they can last in a full-blown brawl.

Cultist Simulator official artwork and logo

At first glance, Cultist Simulator is a nearly incomprehensible jumble of cards, timers and bizarre imagery. However, once you break through that initial barrier and really get immersed into things, Cultist Simulator can become a genuinely compelling little adventure filled with intrigue, eldritch monstrosities and even mundane things like worrying about your next paycheck.

So if you would like to give its flavor of madness a try without actually having to put money on the line, you'll be glad to hear that Cultist Simulator is currently having a free weekend. Simply head on over to Cultist Simulator's store page, download yourself a copy, and you'll be able to play for free for the next four days.

Desperados 3 official artwork and logo

[Update]: Desperados 3 has now arrived, and so far the reception is immensely positive!

If you're a fan of Shadow Tactics, or even the oldschool Commandos series, you should definitely keep an eye on the upcoming Desperados 3. Much like its predecessors, Desperados 3 will be a stealth-focused action game where you'll need to carefully plan out your approach, combine a variety of unique abilities in order to distract or disable enemies, and clear out entire bases filled with heavily armed baddies without anyone even suspecting a thing.

As for what exactly this looks like in action, that you'll find out through the recent and rather informative preview. Have a gander, it really is a useful video:

Wildfire official artwork and logo

[Update]: Wildfire's very first post-launch update has brought in a bunch of fixes, tweaks and improvements.

If you ever got stuck in a stealth game for so long that you just wanted to set the entire level on fire and move on, you might want to take a look at the newly released Wildfire. To put it simply, it's a stealth game where you have to use elemental magic in order to create new pathways, incapacitate enemies, or just sow enough chaos that the guards end up with more pressing matters to attend to than a single mage running around.

As you might guess given the name, fire is by far the most wild and unpredictable of the elements. It will spread and consume absolutely everything in its path, including little ol' you, so do think twice before whipping out a fireball. After all, Wildfire is still a stealth game and you will need to act a bit tricksy in order to succeed, even if everything is likely to go up in flames by the end!

Pilots of Darsalon official artwork of the main menu

If you're in the mood for a bit of an oldschool experience, you might want to keep an eye on the upcoming Pilots of Darsalon. To put it simply, Pilots of Darsalon is a Commodore 64 inspired action game where the flying is heavily based on physics and momentum, quite similar in spirit to 1986's Thrust.

Since that last part has likely made things more confusing than anything else, allow me to also share with you the recently posted trailer. It'll hopefully clue you in quite nicely on what to expect:

Observation official artwork without logo

Now that its Epic Games Store exclusivity has run out, the sci-fi thriller Observation has slowly drifted onto Steam as well. Best of all, it has done so alongside a 50% discount that will last until May 28th, bringing the price down to €10.

When it comes to the actual gameplay, in Observation you don't play as one of the characters adrift on the failing space station, but rather as the station's artificial intelligence S.A.M. Your role will be to operate the various systems, cameras and tools in order to assist Dr. Emma Fisher in figuring out what has happened to the station, the missing crew, and perhaps most importantly, yourself.

Risk of Rain 2 official artwork and logo

[Update]: Risk of Rain 2 has now left Early Access alongside the massive new Update 1.0!

After a series of extremely good updates, with a special mention going towards the recent Artifacts-themed one, Risk of Rain 2 is now slowly getting ready for its full release. In other words, Risk of Rain 2 will be launching from Steam Early Access this August alongside the major Update 1.0!

The exact details behind the launch update are still shrouded in mystery, but you can expect to see a brand new survivor to mess around with, as well as the final stage and boss. There will also be new items and equipment to utilize, and the usual assortment of balance changes and quality of life improvements.

Golf With Your Friends official artwork and logo

After spending a genuinely surprising amount of time in Early Access, a whopping four years, Golf With Your Friends has now finally been released in full for PC and consoles. As you might imagine from the name alone, Golf With Your Friends brings with it multiplayer mini golf madness for up to 12 players, 12 highly themed and expansive courses to mess around with, as well as plenty of mutators and customization options to bring even more chaos into the whole thing.

You can get a pretty good impression of what all of this looks like in gameplay terms through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander, it's a fairly short one:

Streets of Rogue official artwork without logo

Streets of Rogue has received quite a few updates over the years, both in and out of Steam Early Access. However, as the scope of the game has expanded, adding new content has become trickier and trickier. Not only is there a whole bunch of interlocking systems that need to be kept in mind or else everything breaks, but fundamentally changing the actual gameplay is simply out of the question this long after launch.

The answer to this conundrum, as you might imagine, is a brand new sequel that can wipe the slate clean and really shake things up. With that in mind, I am pleased to say that the recently revealed Streets of Rogue 2 will be going in exactly that kind of direction! However, before you get too excited, it is worth mentioning that Streets of Rogue 2 is still incredibly early in its development.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Shadows of New York official screenshot of the dialogue

[Update]: If you're in the mood for more vampire themed RPGs, then you might also want to check out the newly announced Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong.

Much like its predecessor, Coteries of New York, the newly announced Shadows of New York will be a visual novel set in the rather fascinating Vampire: The Masquerade universe. It'll act as a standalone expansion to Coteries of New York, and while there will be reoccurring characters, you'll be able to fully enjoy it without any former knowledge.

As for the story, you will play as a member of the Lasombra clan that's tasked with investigating the murder of New York's Anarch leader. Needless to say, the whole thing is a trap and absolutely riddled with vampire politics, so weaving your way through all of the madness and staying alive will be just as important as figuring out who the killer is.
