[Update #2]: The Airship has now arrived, and it really is a massive map!

[Update]: The Airship, Among Us' newest and biggest map, is launching this March 31st.

Among Us has become ridiculously popular over the past few months, to the point that it's now actively competing with Dota 2, PUBG and Counter-Strike for the top spot on Steam. Given its success, it shouldn't come as too much of as surprise to hear that the developers were planning a bigger and more ambitious sequel.

However, in a bit of a unique twist, the devs have now decided to cancel Among Us 2 and instead bring all of that new content into the original Among Us! While the full list of planned changes and improvements is still nowhere to be found, here's a brief preview of what is to come in the near future:

The Binding of Isaac official artwork for the Repentance expansion

[Update #2]: The Binding of Isaac's final and absolutely massive expansion Repentance has now been unleashed!

[Update]: Change of plans, Repentance will now be launching on March 31, 2021!

It would appear that The Binding of Isaac team simply doesn't understand what the word "final" means. After already going through two rounds of final expansions for the roguelike classic, the "FINAL FINAL FINAL mega expansion" called Repentance is now set to arrive this December 31st! The exact date is most probably a placeholder, but with Repentance being 90% complete so far, it's more likely than not it'll arrive later this year.

When it comes to the actual content, the Repentance expansion seems to be genuinely impressive so far. It'll bring with it 130 new items to toy around with, a new alternate path with brand new chapters and final boss, 100 new enemies, 25 new bosses, and perhaps most importantly of all, 5000 new room designs to master!

Amnesia: The Dark Descent screenshot of a shadow in the hallway

[Update #2]: Amnesia: Rebirth has now been unleashed for PC and PS4, and unsurprisingly, it's pretty much the original game with new content and a few extra bells and whistles.

[Update]: Amnesia: Rebirth's lengthy preview offers plenty of great atmosphere and a glimpse at the monster.

If you ever wanted to see what kind of dark sorcery happens behind the curtains of game development, today's your lucky day. With Amnesia: Rebirth launching this October 20th, Frictional Games have decided to release the full source code for Amnesia: The Dark Descent and A Machine For Pigs under the GPL v3 license!

Much like how the warning on the website will tell you, this doesn't mean that Amnesia is now suddenly free. Frictional still owns all of it, but this does allow you to peek under the hood to see how the engine works, how the various gameplay mechanics were handled, and perhaps even puzzle over some particularly arcane piece of code. After all, Amnesia is over 10 years old at this point, so odds are there's some janky nonsense in there - there always is!

Untitled Goose Game screenshot of the co-op mode in action

If you feel like the poor people in Untitled Goose Game just haven't suffered enough, you'll be delighted to hear that there is now a two-player co-op mode available! After all, if one goose alone is an unrelenting menace, two working together can only be described as a walking apocalypse!

In terms of the actual gameplay, the secondary goose is basically the same as the original, just with a couple of small cosmetic differences to help set them apart. So regardless of which feathered fiend you decide to pilot, your experience should be exactly the same.

Hades official artwork without the logo

[Update]: Following the success of the original, Supergiant Games are now working on a bigger and bolder sequel!

After spending a little under two years in Early Access, Hades has now rather suddenly been released alongside a major new update. So if you're in the mood for some stylish, roguelike dungeon-crawling, you can now properly dive into Hades on PC or the Nintendo Switch.

As for what exactly Hades has to offer on the gameplay front, as well as what sort of atmosphere it's going for, that you can uncover through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a peek, it's a pretty fun one:

Blasphemous official artwork without logo

[Update]: Blasphemous' final free expansion has now arrived - Wounds of Eventide.

After Blasphemous' rather chunky free DLC "Stir of Dawn" launched back in August, I figured that's pretty much it for the Souls-like action-platformer. Thankfully, it would appear that I was completely wrong as the The Game Kitchen and Team17 have just returned to announce that Blasphemous is now available on both macOS and Linux!

Much like the rest of the multi-OS games on Steam, if you already own one copy of Blasphemous, you'll be able to play it on all three platforms. As for what exactly Blasphemous even looks and plays like, that you can find out through the freshly posted launch trailer. Have a peek:

Spelunky 2 artwork showing off a family photo

[Update]: Twelve years after the original, the PC version of Spelunky 2 has now been unleashed!

Even though they've been around for a very long time, action-roguelikes finally made it into the spotlight with the original Spelunky. This was the case because not only did Spelunky have highly appealing visuals, but with randomized levels, a massive difficulty curve and plenty of secrets to uncover, it was one of those games you could play for a hundred hours and still have more to discover.

With all of that in mind, I am delighted to say that the sequel is now nearly upon us. After a two week delay from the launch of the PS4 version, Spelunky 2 will be making its way to PC this September 29th!

Dicey Dungeons official artwork and logo

[Update]: Three years after launch, Dicey Dungeons has just added a chunky free DLC - Reunion.

If you're a fan of strategy-focused roguelite games, you might want to check out the freshly updated Dicey Dungeons. As the name would suggest, the entire game revolves around dice and dice rolls, to the point that even the main characters themselves are sentient dice! However, while the premise may be wacky, the actual gameplay is remarkably fun and far more tactical than one would expect from a game based on dice rolls.

As for the briefly mentioned update, Version 1.9 has brought with it nine new remix rules to help keep subsequent playthroughs fresh and interesting, including one that allows literally any enemy from the dungeon to appear as a beefed-up boss. The update has also added improved modding support, fixed over 200 bugs, as as well brought in an assortment of quality of life upgrades. So while there might not be a lot of new content here, the various fixes and better modding tools should make for a noticeably better experience regardless.

Amnesia: Rebirth official artwork and logo

[Update #2]: Amnesia: Rebirth's lengthy preview offers plenty of great atmosphere and a glimpse at the monster.

[Update]: Frictional Games have released the full source code for the original two Amnesia games!

I sure hope you're in the mood for some good ol' fashioned psychological horror, because Amnesia: Rebirth has now finally received a release date! In other words, you can expect to see it arrive this October 20th for Steam, GOG, Epic Game Store and PlayStation 4.

As for what exactly it looks like in action, that you can find out through the freshly posted teaser trailer. Before you dive in, I will say that it features a brief glimpse at one of the monsters, so if you want to go in completely spoiler-free, you might want to avert your eyes for the time being. If not, here's the video:

Fall Guys artwork showing off the Season 1 mid-season update

[Update]: Fall Guys' major Season 2 update has brought in plenty of medieval mayhem!

If there is one thing that makes a round of Fall Guys turn into an absolute nightmare, it would be the presence of cheaters. Just knowing that nothing you do, and no matter how hard you try, will ever get you closer the glorious crown at the end tends to get a bit demoralizing when it happens over and over again in a single night!

Thankfully, the Fall Guys team has now implemented Easy Anti-Cheat in order to hopefully prevent most of the cheaters from making a mess. There will always be some around because the arms race between cheaters and anti-cheat software is never-ending, but even so, this should greatly improve the quality of the matches.
