Crown Trick official artwork and logo

Crown Trick is a charmingly animated and newly launched turn-based roguelike. While it's not the most original premise in the world, Crown Trick is nevertheless well polished and filled with enough content to keep your occupied for quite a while. So if you're a fan of both genres, I'd say it's probably worth giving it a closer look.

Speaking of which, you can get a pretty good idea of what all of this looks like in action through the freshly posted launch trailer. Have a gander, it's a fairly short one:

[Update]: Noita has just received its final 'Epilogue' update.

After going through a whole bunch of major updates, the action-roguelike Noita has now finally been completed. Version 1.0 brings with it a bunch of new content and quality of life improvements, an even greater appetite for rampant destruction, and most importantly of all, a procedurally generated world where every single pixel is simulated!

Since that last part might not sound all that impressive on paper, allow me to also share with you the recently posted trailer. It'll clue you in quite quickly on just how crazy the combat in Noita can get. Have a gander:

[Update]: Cris Tales has now landed onto PC and consoles alongside a somewhat divisive reception.

Much like the oldschool JRPGs from which it draws a great deal of inspiration, the upcoming Cris Tales is all about wondering across the world, recruiting and befriending a variety of characters, and then facing off against a whole host of enemies in turn-based combat. Things do get a lot more interesting when you consider that Cris Tales also features time-travel and allows you to visit individual locations in the past, present and future!

Unfortunately, as neat as all of that sounds, there is one bit of bad news. Instead of releasing this November 17th as previously announced, Cris Tales has now been pushed back to early 2021, with no exact release date set just yet.

[Update]: Stardew Valley's freshly launched Update 1.5 is the biggest the game has ever seen!

Despite releasing all the way back in 2016, Stardew Valley has steadily been adding heaps and heaps of new content and quality of life improvements. For example, last year's Update 1.4 brought a lot of new heart events to help flesh out your love interests, added the ability to raise fish, introduced a social tab to help keep track of your fellow villagers, and the list goes on for a while.

With all of that in mind, I'm rather delighted to say that Stardew Valley will soon be getting yet another one of these chunky content patches! While the full list of changes is still shrouded in mystery, Update 1.5 will bring with it one very often requested feature - splitscreen co-op!

[Update]: Story-focused spin-off Cook Serve Forever will be heading into Early Access on May 8th, and it'll likely stay there eight to ten months.

If you're in the mood for a cooking and restaurant management game that takes things in a bit of a different (and strange) direction, you might want to check out the newly launched Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3. And when I say strange, I really do mean that as Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3 take place in the post-apocalypse and features attacks from rival cooking gangs!

Since I'm aware that sounds like a whole load of nonsense, allow me to also share with you the recently posted launch trailer. It'll clue you in quite quickly on just what Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3 has to offer:

If you were hoping to get your hands on Axiom Verge 2 this year, I'm afraid I bring some bad news. In a fairly lengthy announcement, the one and only developer Tom Happ revealed that Axiom Verge 2 has been delayed until the first half of 2021, with no concrete date available just yet.

"So why is it taking so long," Happ explains. "First, the enemies in Axiom Verge 2 are much more sophisticated than those in the original Axiom Verge. Whereas in the original all of the enemies followed a set path, in Axiom Verge 2 some enemies scan the environment for you, and if they detect you, they’ll give chase."

[Update]: Amnesia: Rebirth has now been unleashed for PC and PS4, and unsurprisingly, it's pretty much the original game with new content and a few extra bells and whistles.

Ten years have gone by since Amnesia: The Dark Descent brought a breath of fresh air into the horror genre, and now its newest sequel Amnesia: Rebirth is rearing up to do the same. Whether it will succeed or not, we'll find out soon enough as Amnesia: Rebirth will be launching on October 20, 2020 for Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store and PlayStation 4.

As for what exactly you can expect to see in terms of storytelling, as well as what kind of environments you'll be running away from monsters in, that you can find out through the freshly posted preview. Have a peek, it's a rather nice one:

[Update]: Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3 has launched from Early Access alongside some excellent reviews.

After spending slightly under a year in Steam's Early Access program, the oddly post-apocalyptic restaurant management game Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3 is now nearly ready for prime time. You can expect to see it release in full this October 14th for PC, Mac, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, while the PlayStation 4 and Amazon Luna versions will be following in their tracks shortly after.

Once version 1.0 arrives you'll be able to explore a lengthy singleplayer or co-op campaign, mess around with plenty of upgrades for both your food catalog and heavily armored truck, as well as use a variety of cosmetics to probably cover up all of the bullet holes from rival attacks. If that sounds completely insane for what is essentially a cooking and management game, you would be correct, but it is also what gives Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3 a good bit of charm and personality!

Fall Guys artwork for the Season 2 update

[Update]: Fall Guys' devs have released a sneak peek at the upcoming Season 3 update.

When it comes to silly party games, and this includes Fall Guys, things are always the most entertaining when nobody knows what's coming up next and how to best navigate each obstacle. As soon as people master the various stages and develop optimal strategies, things quickly turn sour as players have a nasty tendency to optimize the fun away from the whole experience.

In order to avoid this, as well as to keep the gameplay as fresh as possible, Fall Guys' Season 2 update has now brought in a rather sizable batch of new content. Expect to see four new maps filled with medieval mayhem (with more coming soon), a variety of new obstacles to overcome or simply annoy your friends with, and naturally, a whole host of new cosmetics including wizards, knights and dragons!

[Update]: The Steam Game Festival has returned once more to showcase a bunch of new and upcoming indie games!

If you don't follow indie games all that frequently, yet you still like giving them a try if the concept seems unique enough, you might want to check out the newly launched Autumn Steam Game Festival. As the name would suggest, the Steam Game Festival is all about highlighting unique and interesting indie games, as well as giving players a chance to personally try many of them through the freely available demos.

The Steam Game Festival will last until October 13th, so you should have plenty of time to browse through the games and see if anything piques your curiosity. And if you have a bit of free time, you can also check out the various developer previews, gameplay overviews and interviews that will be streamed on a daily basis.
